Initially branded a hardcore band, their most recent albums Venom and Tears and Deathless have taken a sharp direction towards metal, with critics likening the band's sound to that of Pantera, Sepultura, and Crowbar.
Red, White & Crüe is an anthology album by the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released on February 1, 2005 by Mötley Records and charted at number 6 on The Billboard 200. To coincide with the album's release, the band reunited with drummer Tommy Lee, who left the band in 1999. Bassist Nikki Sixx commented on the band's reunion, comparing it to "seeing Mike Tyson fight. He probably won’t bite anyone’s ear off — but you’re there in case he does."

This Toilet Earth is the fourth album released by heavy metal band Gwar. Released on March 29, 1994, this album was to be one of their oddest and most bittersweet albums. It was the first Gwar album to be censored, due to their gain in popularity as a result of MTV exposure. The music and artwork is almost cartoonish when compared to the previous albums, and the instrumentation had expanded to include horns that reinforce the goofiness. An instrumental version of the song "Jack the World" was also featured in the Beavis and Butt-Head video game for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

The album’s lyrical content was inspired by controversy over obscenity charges against the band and an incident in Charlotte, North Carolina in which frontman Dave Brockie’s prosthetic penile attachment, "The Cuttlefish of Cthulhu", was confiscated by police officers.

Beyond Hell is the tenth studio album by Gwar. Released on August 29, 2006 by DRT Entertainment, the album was originally announced through the band's official website on February 23, 2006. Unlike the band's output since 2001, it is a concept album and a rock opera, centering on Gwar's journey to Hell as they escape from the attacking armies of humanity.

David Murray Brockie was a Canadian-American musician, best known as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Gwar, in which he performed as Oderus Urungus. He performed as a bassist and lead singer in bands such as Death Piggy, X-Cops, and the Dave Brockie Experience (DBX), and starred in the comedy/horror TV sitcom Holliston as Oderus Urungus. Brockie died in 2014 of a heroin overdose.
Sleazy P. Martini is a character played by Don Drakulich in the heavy metal band Gwar. He wears two gigantic gold necklaces, one with a dollar symbol, and one with a skull and crossbones symbol, a large pompadour, and a bright purple suit, and is often seen wielding a sawed-off shotgun. In the Gwar mythos, Sleazy is Gwar's manager and the person who taught them to play their instruments, along with getting them addicted to crack.
Dead Earth Politics was an American heavy metal rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 2005. The band's final line up consisted of Ven Scott, Tim Driscoll, Lennis Hayes and Aaron Canady. Well known for its blend of old and new school metal influences that some have coined as “Progressive Power Thrash” has been described as a cross between Iron Maiden and Lamb of God. The group rose to prominence in the mid late 2000s with their engaging live performances. With one full-length LP and three EPs, the latest release was on March 14, 2015, with their Men Become God’s EP.
