Sidolig Stadium (stand for Sport in de Openlucht is Gezond Stadium; sometimes called Persib Field) is a football stadium located in Kacapiring, Batununggal, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The stadium was built in 1903 and architected by Frans Sidolig. [1]

History

Sidolig is one of the earliest football clubs founded in Bandung City. This club was formed by the children of Europeesche Lagere School in 1902. On 22 February 1903, Sidolig formed a management led by Oscar Veer. Until 1905, Sidolig played at Alun-Alun Bandung (Bandung City Square). [2]

Since 1905, Sidolig has been a club that does not have a permanent home ground. Some of the fields that have been used by Sidolig are the Church Field (now a Bank Indonesia building) and Jalan Jawa Field (now the Bala Keselamatan Office). Until 1923, Sidolig occupied the field on Jalan Raya Pos (Pos Highway), which is now known as Persib Field. [2]

On 17 June 2022, two people died from being asphyxiated during a stampede at the gate of Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia while watching the 2022 President's Cup group stage match between Persib Bandung as host and Persebaya Surabaya.
