The Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad (translation: Sikkim Himalayan State Association) was a political party in the Indian state of Sikkim. The party president was Dr. A.D. Subba. [1] Tara Shrestha was the general secretary of the party. [2]
In February 2004 SHRP together with Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Organization of Sikkimese Unity (OSU), Sikkim Gorkha Party (SGP), Sikkim Gorkha Prajatantrik Party (SGPP), Sikkim National Liberation Front (SNLF), Nepali Bhutia Lepcha (NEBULA), and Gorkha National Liberation Front as a joint political front. [3]
In the 2004 parliamentary election SHRP contested the sole Lok Sabha seat in Sikkim. The party candidate, Tara Kumar Pradhan, came fourth with 2765 votes (1.26%). [4]
In 2008, the party spoke out against a proposal to merge Sikkim with Darjeeling. [2]
In 2014, SHRP merged with Indian National Congress.

Nar Bahadur Bhandari was an Indian politician who served as the chief minister of the state of Sikkim from 1979 to 1994. He briefly served as Member of Parliament representing Sikkim Lok Sabha constituency from 1984 to 1985. He was the founding leader of the Sikkim Sangram Parishad. He was popularly remembered for his efforts to include the Nepali language in 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India. He was awarded with prestigious Jagadamba Shree Purasakar for his contribution for Nepali language. He was the first Indian chief minister of Gorkha origin. He also served as the president of Bharatiya Nepali Bhasha Parisangh until his death. He is popularly known as the architect of modern Sikkim.
The thirteenth legislative assembly election, of Tamil Nadu was held on 8 May 2006. It was held for all 234 constituencies to elect the government in the state for the following five years. The votes were counted three days later on 11 May 2006 and all the results were out by the end of the day. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led (DMK) front won the elections, with the DMK emerging as the single-largest party with 96 seats, and its leader, M Karunanidhi was sworn in as Chief Minister for a fifth and final term. This election marked the first time the state saw a hung assembly with no party gaining a majority of its own. As a result, DMK formed a minority government with its allies, which is the first in the state since the 1952 election. 13th Assembly was instituted due to this election.
The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) is a registered unrecognized political party, that campaigns for the creation of a separate state Gorkhaland within India, out of districts in the north of West Bengal. The party was launched on 7 October 2007. The faction led by Binay Tamang, which was created out of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha in 2017, merged into Gurung's GJM in 2021 after Tamang's resignation, following which he joined Trinamool Congress.

Biraj Adhikari was an Indian politician. Born in Sikkim, Adhikari first became the general secretary of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee, a branch of the Indian National Congress. Adhikari then joined the Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad, followed by forming and becoming president of the Sikkim National People's Party. He also took part in several elections in the state of Sikkim as part of these parties and the Hamro Sikkim Party, before retiring from active politics a few months prior to his death in March 2024.
