Silent Descent is a British metal band from Dartford, founded in 2004. They mix melodic death metal with melodic trance elements using turntables as well as predominant keyboards.

History

Silent Descent released their first EP in 2005, which differed from the band's current sound. In 2007, the band entered the TotalRock Radio global unsigned band awards, winning the "Symphonic Rock or Metal" category, and selected by judges to receive the "Supreme Silver" award (fourth overall in the contest). [1] The following year, the band won the Kerrang!/MCN Unsigned Live competition . [2]

On 12 March 2008, the band released their debut album Duplicity. The band performed at the Bloodstock Open Air music festival on 17 August 2008 [3] and headlined the Boardie Takeover at Download festival in 2009 [4] and 2010.

In addition to working on their next album, the band released a remix EP for Duplicity in 2010.

The second album Mind Games was officially released in the UK on 7 May and in Japan on 23 May featuring two bonus tracks Call Me When You Get There and Wipe Your Chin and Walk Away. The album was tracked at Legacy London, featuring guest vocals from Sarah Jezebel Deva, and mixed by Pontus Hjelm (Dead by April) with tracks 1 and 8 mixed by hard trance producer Alf Bamford (Technikal).

Silent Descent played on the Pepsi Max stage at the Download Festival on 8 June 2012.

In 2012 their long-term musician Chris Kipster left the band, they played with him at a farewell show at Leo's Red Lion in Gravesend, Kent. However, the band released the remix album Remind Games in 2014, which was produced by Chris Kipster.

In 2017 the band released their third official album Turn to Grey, which featuring a guest appearance by Björn 'Speed' Strid of Soilwork.

Enter Shikari are a British rock band formed in St Albans in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Huron are an English thrash metal band formed in Plymouth in late 2007. They released their first studio album, Cheyne Stoking, in June 2009 on Rising Records. Duplicity Remix EP is a 5-track remix EP by English trance metal band Silent Descent. It was released on 22 February 2010. The EP was released solely online in an attempt to appease high demand for new material.

You and What Army were an English four-piece electronic rock band formed in 2007, originating from Telford. It consisted of David Brown, Kieran Charles Smith, Jamie Hancox and Zak Hammond from 2008, and previously with Joseph Allen (guitar), Darren Smith (bass), and Thomas Bridgwater (drums). Although they are predominantly a rock band, they combine several different musical styles into their sound and are mainly influenced by heavy metal and electronic music.

The Defiled were a four-piece British band from London mixing groove-laden hardcore/metal with electronic music influences. They have been described by Kerrang! magazine as "The saviours of UK Metal" and championed by Metal Hammer as one of the leaders in a new wave of British metal along with bands such as While She Sleeps, Bury Tomorrow and Devil Sold His Soul. The band have built a fanbase following support slots with bands such as Murderdolls, Static-X, Godsmack, Deathstars and Motionless in White as well as playing Bloodstock, Download and Sonisphere festivals.
