Silka is a Philippine skin care brand owned by Cosmetique Asia Corporation. [1] It was first introduced in 2001 as a brand of papaya soap. [2]

History

On September 7, 2001, Cosmetique Asia Corporation (CAC) was founded by Alexander S. Co and introduced its own skin care brand, Silka. [1] It launched the Papaya whitening herbal soap and lotion variants. A year later, it also launched the Papaya whitening body wash variant. [2]

In 2003, the brand launched the Green papaya whitening herbal soap and lotion variants, followed by the Papaya facial cleanser and deodorant in 2004, and Papaya whitening pearl cream in 2006. [2]

Ahead of its 20th anniversary, in 2021, the brand introduced the facial care set including day and night cream, micellar water, and foaming face wash. [3]

In 2023, the brand introduced the two premium body wash variants, including Silka Papaya Luxe and Silka Papaya Fresh. [4]

On July 15, 2024, the brand launched the "Kutis Alaganda" (lit.'fair complexion') campaign with its endorsers Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto, which held at the Marquis Event Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. [5]

Silka has sponsored many of national beauty pageants, including Binibining Pilipinas and Miss World Philippines, one of the main sponsors of beauty pageant candidates from 2021 until 2022. [6] In 2023, the brand launched its own beauty pageant competition, Binibining Silka, in collaboration with ABS-CBN Corporation. [7]
