Silverdalen (Swedish for The Silver Valley) is a locality situated in Hultsfred Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 725 inhabitants in 2010. [1]
The Nässjö - Oskarshamn railway line passes through the settlement since 1874. It was given the name Silverdalen in 1931. Before that it was either called Hällefors or Råsa-Lönneberga. The paper mill located here was founded around 1874 and was in operation until year 2002 when M-real (which had taken over as owner in 2000) closed down its operation. The Municipality also had a railway which was completed in 1874. [2] The initial name of the railway stop was Rasa which later was later changed at the same time with the paper mill in 1931 [3] . Together, they were named Silverdalen after a naming dispute with the Swedish postal service [4] . The train station was later closed down in 2014 [5] . As of 2020, the population of Silverdalen was estimated to have declined to 666 [6] , with the male population being at 330 while the female was at 336. [7]

Orrefors is a locality situated in southern Sweden and part of Nybro Municipality, Kalmar County, with 719 inhabitants in 2010. The township belongs to Hälleberga parish and is primarily famous for its glassworks with the same name. Orrefors is part of the province Småland and the area known as Kingdom of Crystal. The area is famous for its glassworks and include the municipalities of Emmaboda, Nybro, Uppvidinge, Växjö and Lessebo in southern Sweden. Orrefors glasswork is one of the most notable with the adjacent National School of Glass and Kosta Glasbruk, which is the basis for the Kosta Boda company.
The Kalmar Regiment, designations I 20, I 21 and Fo 18, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 16th century. It was merged with another unit to form a new regiment in 1928. It was later reraised and disbanded again in 1997. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from Kalmar County, and it was later garrisoned there.
