Lancashire Cricket Club represents the historic county of Lancashire in English cricket. The club has held first-class status since it was founded in 1864. Lancashire's home is Old Trafford Cricket Ground,although the team also play matches at other grounds around the county. Thomson described him thus:"Sammy ... radiated such elemental force in hard hitting,fast bowling and electrical fielding that he might have been the forerunner of Sir Learie Constantine."

Henry William"Harry" Lee was a professional English cricketer who played first-class cricket for the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Middlesex County Cricket Club between 1911 and 1934. He made one Test appearance for England,in 1931. An all-rounder,Lee was a right-handed batsman and bowled both off break and slow-medium pace bowling with his right arm. He scored 1,000 runs in a season on thirteen occasions. Part of the County Championship winning sides in 1920 and 1921,Lee aggregated 20,158 runs and took 401 wickets in first-class cricket.
Michael Burns is an English first-class list cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer who played county cricket for Warwickshire and Somerset in a first-class career which spanned from 1992 until 2005. He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. An adaptable cricketer,he appeared for Cumberland and Warwickshire as a wicket-keeper,but when he moved to Somerset he developed into an aggressive batsman who bowled at medium-pace when needed.
Anya Shrubsole is an English former cricketer who played as a right-arm medium pace bowler and right-handed lower-order batter. She played for England between 2008 and 2022,and played domestic cricket for Somerset,Berkshire,Western Storm,Southern Vipers,Southern Brave and Perth Scorchers. She made her England debut in 2008,and was Player of the Match in the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup Final. In 2018,she became the first woman to appear on the cover of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. In April 2022,Shrubsole announced her retirement from international cricket. In June 2023,she announced her intention to retire from all forms of cricket after the 2023 season of The Hundred.
David Alexander Burton is a first-class cricketer,who has played county cricket for Gloucesteshire,Middlesex and Northamptonshire.
Frank Henry Vigar was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Essex County Cricket Club between 1938 and 1954. A right-handed batsman,and leg break bowler,Vigar served as an all-rounder with 8,858 runs at 26.28 and 241 wickets at 37.90. From his rained-off debut in 1938,Vigar went on to play 257 matches for his county. His greatest success came in the "golden summer" of 1947,where he scored 1,735 runs and took 64 wickets. A partnership with Peter Smith of 218 for the final wicket remains an Essex record.
Dennis Oliver Baldry is a former English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler who played as an all-rounder.
Simon Christopher Kerrigan is a retired English cricketer who last played for Northamptonshire. He bowled slow left arm orthodox spin. Kerrigan signed for Lancashire in September 2008,and made his debut for the first team in 2010,filling in for Gary Keedy,Lancashire's senior spinner. In August 2011,Kerrigan was selected for the England Lions for the first time. The following month he took the best first-class bowling figures for Lancashire since 1953 and that year Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1950.
Benny Alexander Cameron Howell is an English first-class cricketer. Howell is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast for Hampshire.
Gemaal Maqsood Hussain is an English professional cricketer who most recently played for Somerset County Cricket Club. A right-arm fast-medium paced bowler,he moved to Somerset from neighbouring county Gloucestershire at the close of the 2010 season.
