Simona Mohamsson (born 27 December 1994) is a Swedish politician serving as Minister for Education and Minister for Integration in the Kristersson cabinet since 2025. [2] She has been Leader of the Liberals since June 2025. [3]
Mohamsson was born and raised in Hamburg,Germany,and moved to Sweden at the age of eight. [4] Upon moving to Sweden the family changed their last name from Mohammed to Mohamsson. [5] Her father is Palestinian (born in Haifa,Israel) and her mother is a Lebanese Shia Muslim (born in Tripoli). [5]
She has been vice-chairman of the Liberal Youth of Sweden (LUF). [6] Mohamsson published the book Hongkong RIP in 2021,about the democracy movement in Hong Kong. [7] She has previously supported giving military and economic help to Ukraine. [8]
