Awarding the album five stars from Worship Leader, Jay Akins states, "With Simple Gospel, United Pursuit invites us to worship with their family and the larger family of God." [3] Timothy Monger, reviewing the album at AllMusic, writes, "United Pursuit Band offer a passionate, folk-inspired take on modern worship music." [4] Giving the album a seven out of ten for Cross Rhythms, says, "'Simple Gospel' is aptly named - it successfully invites you strip away all the distractions and complications in life and focus on the simple, wonderful truth of Jesus' love." [2] Alex Sanfilippo wrote on The Good Christian how he 'fell in love with it' and that 'the spirit of worship behind it is very strong'. [5]

Hillsong United is a contemporary worship collective originating from Hillsong Church. Since forming in 1998 out of the church's youth ministry, the group has released fifteen live albums and six studio albums.
All That Is Within Me is the fifth studio album by American Christian rock band MercyMe. Produced by Brown Bannister, it was released on November 20, 2007 through INO Records. The album, intended by the band to be a worship album split between covers and original songs, was recorded following the band's tour with Audio Adrenaline in promotion of their previous studio album Coming Up to Breathe (2006). Although the band intended to write material for a new album during the tour, they had only written one song by the time they entered their recording studio, Cider Mountain Studio in Athol, Idaho. The band wrote so many songs at the studio that they decided not to include any cover songs; all of the songs on the album but one were written or co-written by the band. The album was described as being a rock and worship album, being aimed directly at a Christian audience.

The album is inspired by the biblical account of King Jehoshaphat's victory over the Moabite alliance in war by sending out a group of worshipers as a vanguard for his army. The featured worship leaders on the album are Josh Baldwin, Cory Asbury, Jonathan David & Melissa Helser, Bethany Wohrle, Sean Feucht, Emmy Rose, Brian Johnson, Jenn Johnson, Kalley Heiligenthal, Paul McClure, Hannah McClure and Hunter G K Thompson with Molly Skaggs, Daniel Bashta and Harvest as guests.
