Thomas Wesley Pentz, known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ and music producer. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. His 2013 EP, Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The EP's title track was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.

"My Egyptian Lover" is also included on Oh's debut album, Hot Like Wow. It was released with remixes by the Loose Cannons, Ben Macklin, Paul Jackson, and Rogerseventytwo. The song was also used heavily by the American recording artist Lady Gaga throughout 2008 to promote her singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face", to which the song's producer partook in the promotion.
"Space Cowboy" is the international lead single from British funk and acid jazz band Jamiroquai's second studio album, The Return of the Space Cowboy (1994). Hot Like Wow is the debut album by British recording artist Nadia Oh. It was released in the United Kingdom on 13 April 2008 by Tiger Trax Records. It spawned four singles initially; My Egyptian Lover, Something for the Weekend, Nadia Oh and Got Your Number, all released between 2007–2008. Oh performed gigs in Tokyo to support the album. Jane de Jong, known professionally as Ruby Frost, is a New Zealand singer and songwriter from Auckland. In 2009, she won the nationwide music competition MTV 42Unheard, giving her a recording contract with Universal Music New Zealand. Since then she has performed showcases at CMJ in New York and The Viper Room in LA; toured with Mt Eden, Cut Copy, Evermore and Van She; and opened for acts including Diplo, Nero, Kimbra, Digitalism and Garbage. She was one of the four judges in season one of The X Factor NZ, and was the runner-up mentor when her act Whenua Patuwai came second in the competition.
Colours is the second and final album by British recording artist Nadia Oh. It was released in the United Kingdom and the United States on 8 May 2011 by Tiger Trax Records. Numerous viral videos have been released through the video-sharing website YouTube to promote the album as well as multiple fan promo videos. Like Oh's debut effort, the album only spawned one main single, "Taking Over the Dancefloor", released digitally on 24 April 2011, However Colours was re-released on 18 September 2011 to include four new tracks: "No Bueno", "Shade", "I Like It Loud", and "Follow Me".

"Liquorice" is a song by American rapper Azealia Banks, taken from her debut extended play (EP) titled 1991 (2012). The song was released onto Banks' Tumblr account on December 18, 2011, and was later released for digital download on December 4, 2012. Built around Lone's song "Pineapple Crush", "Liquorice" is an acid house track that incorporates synthesizers in its composition. Lyrically, the song contains wordplay from Harlem, Banks' origin, and is inspired by interracial dating. A music video for the single was directed by Rankin and was released in June 2012.

Fidlar, stylized as FIDLAR, is an American punk and garage rock band from Los Angeles. The band's name is an acronym for Fuck It Dawg, Life's aRisk, a skate mantra gleaned from singer Zac Carper's former roommates. Originally, FIDLAR went under the name 'Fuck The Clock', as referenced in their song "Cheap Beer". To date, the band have released three studio albums: FIDLAR (2013), Too (2015) and Almost Free (2019). The band are mostly known for short, fast songs that deal with partying and narcotics. In 2013, Pitchfork wrote that the band "don't make music you'll grow old with, and they won't get an "A" for originality, but that's not really the point".

After release, it debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 at No. 78 and on the Canadian Hot 100 at No. 48. It appears on Minaj's first album, Pink Friday, though it was not released to promote the album. The special remix released in the UK features the British recording artist Cheryl Cole. The song peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 By December 2013, it has sold 780,000 digital downloads.
