Sleelatahanir Pore is a 2021 Bengali social drama film directed by Reshmi Mitra [1] and produced by SK Sahid Imam. [2] The film featuring Soumitra Chatterjee, Rahul Banerjee, Abhishek Chatterjee and Moubani Sorcar, is based on a novel of the same name by the Bengali poet Mallika Sengupta. [3] [4] The film about a rape victim survivor was released on 12 March 2021 under the banner of Sonam Movies. [2] [5]

Plot

The movie is based on the struggle of a rape victim Ricky Sen. Ricky, a young lady works in a Band. In a get together inside the jungle, she was raped by a powerful person Bijon. Bijon is the husband of Mandira Roy, a political and woman activist. Ricky's friend Sanglap, Shuveccha and a journalist try to give her justice but the issue becomes highly political due to Bijon's wife. [2] [6]

Bhobishyoter Bhoot is a 2019 Indian Bengali-language satirical comedy film directed by Anik Dutta. The film was released on 15 February 2019. Despite its similar topics, Dutta states that it is not a sequel to his film, Bhooter Bhabishyat (2012). All single and multiple screen theaters were stopped from showing the film immediately after release citing "orders from upper management". Various leading newspapers quoted unnamed sources, as well Dutta, as saying that the West Bengal police had issued these instructions to the theatres.
