The Sligo Football League is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the lower ranking Sligo clubs, operating in Division 3 of the league. Since its inception in 1979 up to 2003, it was regarded as Division 2 of the league. Since 2004 this has been altered, with a number of Intermediate teams playing in the higher Divisions (1A and 1B), and Division 2 itself was split in 2006, into Division 2A and Division 2B. The Divisions have been renamed for 2008, and are now Divisions 1 to 5.
Enniscrone are the most successful club, having won on 4 occasions, the last in 2004. Naomh Molaise Gaels, twice previous winners under their old incarnation as Grange/Cliffoney, won in 2008 after defeating St John's in the final.

St Brigid's GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Castleknock, Fingal, Ireland which serves Castleknock, Clonsilla, Blanchardstown and Corduff. Its main grounds are at Russell Park, and it also has grounds in Castleknock at Beech Park and College Fort. The club supports 70 teams, from nursery level to adults, in hurling, football, camogie, women's football, handball and badminton.

The Sligo Senior Football League Division 2 is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the Sligo clubs operating in the Senior League, though not in the top division. This split has been in place since 2004, when the Division was known as Division 1B. The finalists are both promoted to Division 1 for the following year. Geevagh won the title in 2008, defeating Castleconnor in the final.
The Sligo Football League, Division 4, is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the Sligo clubs operating in what is effectively the second tier of the Intermediate League. This League was introduced in 2006 as Division 2B, with Owenmore Gaels the first winners. St. Molaise Gaels were champions in 2008. It has been renamed as Division 4 since the 2008 season.

Calry-St Joseph's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Calry and the northern ward of Sligo, Éire. The club was formerly known as Calry Gaels until it became Calry-St Joseph's in 1987 after a re-organisation of the GAA structures in the Sligo urban area. They have won the last 7 Sligo Senior Hurling Championships and played in 12 of the last 13 finals, winning in 2005 until 2009 and again from 2011 to 2017. In 2009 they won the Connacht Junior Club Hurling Championship beating Galway side Skehana 1-09 to 0-10 in the final having lost to them the year before and they repeated that feat again in 2012 by beating the same opposition from before, Skehana. They followed up that victory with a double double by winning both Provincial and County Championships in 2013. The club's most recent victory in the Connacht Junior Hurling Championship came in 2016. Reduced to 13 men, with two players sent off, they clawed back a deficit of 5 points to tie the match and go on to beat Micheál Breathnach of the Galway Gaeltacht in extra-time, 3-9 to 2-10. They won the Sligo Intermediate Football Championship in 2004 & 2014 and came Runners Up in 1988, 1990 & 2013 and won Sligo Junior Football Championship in 1976 & 1987 and were Runners Up in 1983 & 1984.
Brendan Murtagh is an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Westmeath senior team spanned twenty seasons from 2001 until 2020.
Naomh Molaise Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club covering much of the northern area of County Sligo, comprising Cliffoney (Ahamlish) and part of the Drumcliffe/Maugherow parishes. The club is a combination of a number of older clubs, including Grange, Cliffoney and Maugherow, and had fielded as Grange–Cliffoney before adopting the present name in 2003. Currently the champions of the Dr Taheny Cup for the minor A championship, a first-time achievement for the club.
St. John's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Carraroe and the eastern ward of Sligo, Republic of Ireland. It is one of the newer clubs in the county, having been formed in 1987 after a re-organisation of the GAA structures in the Sligo urban area. The club's grounds, formerly known as Cuilbeg, have been renamed Stenson Park in memory of legendary Sligo player and Curry/St. John's club man Johnny Stenson, and were formally opened in October 2012 by GAA President Liam O'Neill.
