The Sligo Senior Football League is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the top Sligo clubs, operating in Division 1 of the league. The Senior League has been divided in two since 2004, with Division 1 comprising the leading eight sides, with the remainder in Division 1B, now known as Division 2.
Tourlestrane are the most successful club, having won on 16 occasions, the latest in 2021.
The trophy presented to the winners is the John White Cup.

St Brigid's GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Castleknock, Fingal, Ireland which serves Castleknock, Clonsilla, Blanchardstown and Corduff. Its main grounds are at Russell Park, and it also has grounds in Castleknock at Beech Park and College Fort. The club supports 70 teams, from nursery level to adults, in hurling, football, camogie, women's football, handball and badminton.

Parnells GAA or Parnells Gaelic Athletic Association club Gaelic football club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Coolock, Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 1893, named after the recently deceased Charles Stewart Parnell, and at that time was known as Parnell Volunteers. Parnells have won the Dublin senior football championship on six occasions, in 1913, 1916, 1939, 1945 and most recently in 1987, 1988.

The winners of the Sligo Senior Championship qualify to represent the county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Tubbercurry remain the most successful club, having won the Championship on 20 occasions, the last in 2014. Tourlestrane won the 2022 competition, defeating St Mary's GAA in the final to win their eighteenth title, their seventh title in a row.
The Sligo Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised by Sligo GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Sligo. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Connacht Junior Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship. Previously, the winners used to compete in the Connacht Senior Club Hurling Championship but were very unsuccessful at that level.
The Sligo Football League is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the lower ranking Sligo clubs, operating in Division 3 of the league. Since its inception in 1979 up to 2003, it was regarded as Division 2 of the league. Since 2004 this has been altered, with a number of Intermediate teams playing in the higher Divisions, and Division 2 itself was split in 2006, into Division 2A and Division 2B. The Divisions have been renamed for 2008, and are now Divisions 1 to 5.
The Sligo Senior Football League Division 2 is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the Sligo clubs operating in the Senior League, though not in the top division. This split has been in place since 2004, when the Division was known as Division 1B. The finalists are both promoted to Division 1 for the following year. Geevagh won the title in 2008, defeating Castleconnor in the final.
The Sligo Football League, Division 4, is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club league competition between the Sligo clubs operating in what is effectively the second tier of the Intermediate League. This League was introduced in 2006 as Division 2B, with Owenmore Gaels the first winners. St. Molaise Gaels were champions in 2008. It has been renamed as Division 4 since the 2008 season.
Tubbercurry is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Tubbercurry, County Sligo; the club was formed in 1888. They have won 20 Sligo Senior Football Championships and 14 Sligo Senior Hurling Championships. They have also won 9 Sligo Senior Football League titles. At underage they have won 10 Sligo Minor Football Championships and 7 Sligo Under 20 Football Championships. One of the greatest hurlers in Sligo history, Paul Seevers played with the club for a number of years winning many medals with both the Gaelic football and Hurling teams. The club combines with Cloonacool at underage level.
Bunninadden is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the south of the county, comprising the parish of Bunninadden in County Sligo, Ireland.
Naomh Molaise Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club covering much of the northern area of County Sligo, comprising Cliffoney (Ahamlish) and part of the Drumcliffe/Maugherow parishes. The club is a combination of a number of older clubs, including Grange, Cliffoney and Maugherow, and had fielded as Grange–Cliffoney before adopting the present name in 2003. Currently the champions of the Dr Taheny Cup for the minor A championship, a first-time achievement for the club.
St John's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Carraroe and the eastern ward of Sligo, Republic of Ireland. It is one of the newer clubs in the county, having been formed in 1987 after a re-organisation of the GAA structures in the Sligo urban area. The club's grounds, formerly known as Cuilbeg, have been renamed Stenson Park in memory of former Sligo player and Curry/St John's club man Johnny Stenson, and were formally opened in October 2012 by GAA President Liam O'Neill.

The team competes in the Christy Ring Cup and the National Hurling League. It formerly competed in the abolished Connacht Senior Hurling Championship, finishing as runner-up in 1900 and 1906.
The 2021 National Hurling League was the 90th season of the National Hurling League for county teams. The English county teams did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions.
