Slow Decay is the tenth studio album by American metalcore band the Acacia Strain. It was released on July 24, 2020, through Rise Records, though originally scheduled for release a week earlier, on July 17. [11]
The songs in the album were all released as six two-track singles, the first five of which were released in the months leading up to the album's release with one-letter titles spelling out the word "DECAY". [12] Guest vocalists in the album include Aaron Heard (Jesus Piece), [13] Jess Nyx (Mortality Rate), [14] Zach Hatfield (Left Behind), and Courtney LaPlante (Spiritbox). [15]
The album went on to have over 12,000 copies sold within a week after its release, over 9,000 of which being pure copies, selling more than their previous albums such as Coma Witch and Gravebloom had in their respective initial weeks of release. The album peaked in the Billboard charts at #87 in the Top 200 chart and #3 in the Hard Rock Albums chart, along with #5 in Current Albums, Top Album Sales, and Vinyl Albums. [16]

The Black Dahlia Murder is an American melodic death metal band from Waterford, Michigan, formed in 2001. Their name is derived from the 1947 unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, often referred to as Black Dahlia. Currently, the band consists of lead vocalist Brian Eschbach, bassist Max Lavelle, drummer Alan Cassidy, and guitarists Brandon Ellis and Ryan Knight. The Black Dahlia Murder has undergone various lineup changes, with Trevor Strnad and Eschbach remaining the only constant members, until the former's death in 2022, which then saw Eschbach take over lead vocals and Knight replacing him on rhythm guitar.
The Acacia Strain is an American deathcore band that was founded in 2001 and originally based in Chicopee, Massachusetts, but now based in Albany, New York. The group is currently signed to Rise Records and initially consisted of high school friends Vincent Bennett, Christopher Daniele, and Ben Abert, Karrie Whitfield, Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz, and Daniel Daponde joining shortly after. They recorded and released their debut album ...And Life Is Very Long in 2002 via Devil's Head records. Since then, the band has released eleven more full-length albums.
Make Them Suffer is an Australian metalcore band from Perth, formed in 2008. They are currently signed to SharpTone Records. Their debut studio album, Neverbloom, peaked at No. 56 on the ARIA Album charts in June 2012, and showcased the band's earlier mix of metalcore, blackened death metal, and symphonic metal. Its follow-up Old Souls debuted at No. 30 upon release in May 2015 and displayed the band beginning to transition from death/black metal to a more progressive metalcore sound. After the band signed with Rise Records, the label released an expanded version of Old Souls in August 2016, containing also an EP from their death metal era Lord of Woe and a new track, "Ether". Despite the name, the band is not named after the Cannibal Corpse song of the same name.
Iwrestledabearonce was an American mathcore/metalcore band formed in 2007 in Shreveport, Louisiana. In their nine years together, they released one EP, four full-length albums, and two remixed releases.
After the Burial is an American progressive metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are currently signed to Sumerian Records and have released five of their six full-length albums through the label. Since their inception in 2004, the band has gone through two vocalist changes, two drummer changes, the departure and death of founding rhythm guitarist Justin Lowe, and the departure of bassist Lerichard Foral. Lead guitarist Trent Hafdahl remains the sole remaining founding member. They are considered key contributors to the development of subgenres such as djent and progressive metalcore.

It is the band's first release on Rise Records and their final album with Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz as their guitarist before leaving the band in May 2013. The opening track, “Doomblade”, contains a sample from the 2012 horror film, The Devil Inside.

Eternal Blue is the debut studio album by the Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox. It was released on September 17, 2021, through the band's own Pale Chord Records in partnership with Rise Records. Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer privately formed Spiritbox in 2016 following their departure from Iwrestledabearonce. After revealing the project and releasing an extended play in 2017, the earliest development on what would become Eternal Blue commenced in 2018. The band recorded several other singles in the meantime, which were compiled onto a second extended play in 2019. Their first full-length record was initially slated for an April 2020 release, but development and promotion were initially halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They are the band's first albums to feature rhythm guitarist Mike Mulholland, replacing Tom Smith who left the band in 2022, and the last to feature longtime drummer Kevin Boutot.
