Sogelau Tuvalu (born 5 June 1994) is an American Samoan track and field athlete who represented American Samoa at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics in the 100 meters, despite being trained as a shot putter.
Having not qualified to compete at the shot put event, Tuvalu was entered into the 100 meters at the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, which had no qualification standard for smaller nations. [2] Running in the fourth heat of the preliminary round, Tuvalu finished 5 seconds slower than first-placed Malaysian Mohd Noor Imran, finishing in 15.66s. [2] [3] [4] [5] Tuvalu is also one of the youngest debutants in the history of the World Athletics Championships, making his first and only appearance aged 17.
Wallace Spearmon Jr. is a retired American sprint athlete, who specializes in the 200 meters. He is a two-time NCAA outdoor champion in the 200 m and won the silver medal in the event at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics. Tuvalu competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its second appearance in the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The delegation consisted of three competitors: two short-distance runners, Tavevele Noa and Asenate Manoa, and one weightlifter, Tuau Lapua Lapua. All three qualified for the games through wildcard places because they did not meet the qualification standards. Lapua was the flag bearer for the opening ceremony while Manoa carried it at the closing ceremony. Noa and Manoa failed to advance beyond the preliminary rounds of their events although the latter established a new national record for the women's 100 metres, while Lapua placed 12th in the men's featherweight weightlifting competition.

He won the gold medal in 100 metres at the 2017 European U20 Championships and the silver medal at the 2016 World U20 Championships. He ran the anchor leg in the 4×100m relay of the Italian team that won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won the bronze medal in 200 metres at the 2022 European Championships. He is coached by his father, Salvino Tortu, a former Sardinian sprinter who moved to Lombardy.
