The recording sessions took place at the Muthafuckin' Spot on Lexington. The album was produced mostly by member DJ Mighty Mi, but also featured production from Alchemist and Reef. It features guest appearances from Bobbito García, Cage, Defari, Eminem, Evidence, Kool Keith, Mad Skillz, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, Thirstin Howl III, What? What? and Wordsworth. The album peaked at number 193 on the Billboard 200, number 45 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and number 11 on the Heatseekers Albums in the United States. The single "B-Boy Document '99" reached number 63 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, number 7 on the Hot Rap Songs. The single "Dick Starbuck "Porno Detective"" made it to number 37 on the Hot Rap Songs.
Veteranz Day is the seventh studio album by American rapper Big Daddy Kane. It was released on April 28, 1998, via The Label/Blackheart Records. The recording sessions took place at Studio 57, Mighty Studios and Unique Recording Studios in New York. Production was handled by Easy Mo Bee, DJ Ill, L.G. and Big Daddy Kane himself. It features guest appearances from Rappin' Is Fundamental, Baldhead Buchanon, Felica Price, Kelly German, Mike Ransom, Philthy Dred, Shaneo Delano and Shaqueen.

Saints of Los Angeles is the ninth and final studio album by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released on June 24, 2008, by Mötley Records and Eleven Seven Music. This was the only full-length studio album with the band's original lineup since 1997's Generation Swine, following the return of drummer Tommy Lee, the last to feature guitarist Mick Mars before his dismissal from Mötley Crüe in 2022, and the last before their initial dissolution in 2015. Following its release, the band has avoided releasing any further albums in favor of releasing singles.

Revival is the second studio album by American singer Selena Gomez. It was released on October 9, 2015, by Interscope Records, her first album released through that label. Preparation for the album began in 2014, when Gomez left her previous label Hollywood Records. Michael Santiago Render, better known by his stage name Killer Mike, is an American rapper and activist. Gomez collaborated with songwriters Chloe Angelides, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, and Julia Michaels, along with Norwegian duo Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen, who handled production under their stage name Stargate. Frequent collaborator Dreamlab handled the vocal production as well as background vocals. Driven to create a unique sound for herself, the singer focused on lyrics that reflected personal experiences, along with referencing influential albums of her youth, specifically Christina Aguilera's fourth studio album Stripped (2002).
"Me & the Rhythm" is a song by American singer Selena Gomez from her second solo studio album Revival (2015), included as the eighth track on the record. It was released on October 2, 2015 to digital download platforms as the album's first and only promotional single. The song was written by Gomez, Justin Tranter, and Julia Michaels, along with its producers Robin Fredriksson and Mattias Larsson, known as Mattman & Robin. "Me & the Rhythm" was the last song recorded for Revival, conceived after Gomez delayed the album's mixing to record more material with Michaels and Tranter. Gomez has called the track a personal favorite from the album.

He signed with Red Bull Records to release his debut extended play (EP), No Love Lost (2020). It spawned the single "Chosen", which peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His 2022 single, "Die Hard" peaked at number five on the chart and remains his highest-charting song. His debut mixtape, Before You Go (2022), was released in April of that year and meekly entered the Billboard 200, while his debut studio album, I'll Always Come Find You (2024), failed to chart.
