Editors at AllMusic rated this album 4.5 out of 5 stars, with critic Thom Jurek writing that Sill "was able to sing without artifice, allowing the full weight of her songs to arrive at the listener clearly with enviable restraint" and in terms of this compilation, "the true gift here is the warm, rich, thoroughly remastered sound that should make even fans who have all of Sill's wondrous material seek it out in this format"; [1] the site chose this as Best of 2018 in Compilations and Reissues. Marissa Nadler is an American musician and fine artist. A double CD released on Water Records in 2005, the album mainly contains work originally recorded in the seventies as potential material for a third album on Asylum Records. A combination of Sill's health and drug problems and lack of interest in the market prevented the completion of the album in the seventies but a renewed interest in her work led to the release of this set, which also includes film footage from 1973.

Early Takes: Volume 1 is a compilation album of outtakes and demo recordings by English rock musician George Harrison, released posthumously on 1 May 2012. The recordings appeared in Martin Scorsese's 2011 documentary film George Harrison: Living in the Material World and were originally issued as part of the deluxe version of the DVD release. Made in California (1962–2012) is a compilation box set by the Beach Boys, released on August 27, 2013. The set, released through Capitol Records, was designed by Mark London in a form emulating a high school yearbook. The set contains six CDs with tracks that span the band's entire career, including outtakes, demos, B-sides, rarities, alternate takes and versions, plus over 60 previously unreleased. It supersedes the theretofore career-spanning 1993 box set Good Vibrations: Thirty Years of The Beach Boys, which followed a similar premise.
