Sonia Iovan-Inovan (29 September 1935 – 6 September 2024) was a Romanian artistic gymnast who competed at the 1956, 1960, and 1964 Olympic Games. [1] She was a double Olympic bronze medalist, a bronze world medalist and a multiple European medalist. [2] [3] [4] [5] Iovan died in France on 6 September 2024, at the age of 88. [6]

An elite gymnast for eight years, she represented the United States at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. In addition to her Olympic experience, she participated in the 1983, 1985 and 1987 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She was a two-time winner of the Honda Sports Award.
