The Sony SmartWatch is a line of wearable devices developed and marketed by Sony Mobile from 2012 to 2016 through three generations. They connect to Android smartphones and can display information such as Twitter feeds and SMS messages, among other things.
The original Sony SmartWatch, model MN2SW, came with a flexible silicone wristband with multiple colors available. It was introduced at CES 2012 and launched later in March 2012. [1]
The Sony SmartWatch 2, model SW2, was launched in late September 2013. The SW2 supports working together with any Android 4.0 (and higher) smartphone, unlike Samsung's competing Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which only works with some of Samsung's own Galaxy handsets. The watch features an aluminum body and comes with the option of a silicone or metal wristband, but can be used with any 24mm wristband. It is 1.65 inches tall by 1.61 inches wide by 0.35 inch thick, weighs 0.8 ounces and sports a transflective LCD screen with a 220x176 resolution. The SW2 connects to the smartphone using Bluetooth, and supports NFC for easy pairing. It is rated IP57 so it can be submersed in water up to a metre for 30 minutes and is dust resistant. [2] [3]
At IFA 2014 the company announced the Sony Smartwatch 3. [4] [5] Its processor switched from previous generations' ARM Cortex-M MCU [6] to an ARM Cortex-A CPU. [7]
As noted by ABI Research, "The SmartWatch 3 has many new features such as waterproof (IP68 rated, not just resistant), improved styling, transition to Android Wear, and introduction of a new wearable platform from Broadcom. ... [It's] based on the Broadcom system-on-chip (SoC) platform which includes a 1.2GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor (BCM23550), an improved GPS and ambient light sensor processing SoC (BCM47531) capable of simultaneously tracking five satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, SBAS, and BeiDou), the now popular Wi-Fi 802.11n/BT/NFC/FM quad-combo connectivity chip (BCM43341), and a highly integrated power management IC (BCM59054)." The Sony SmartWatch 3 will not be upgraded to version 2.0 of Android Wear. [9]

A mobile operating system is an operating system for smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smartglasses, or other non-laptop personal mobile computing devices. While computers such as typical/mobile laptops are "mobile", the operating systems used on them are generally not considered mobile ones, as they were originally designed for desktop computers that historically did not have or need specific mobile features. This line distinguishing mobile and other forms has become blurred in recent years, due to the fact that newer devices have become smaller and more mobile unlike hardware of the past. Key notabilities blurring this line are the introduction of tablet computers and light-weight laptops and the hybridization of the two in 2-in-1 PCs.

A smartwatch is a wearable computer in the form of a watch; modern smartwatches provide a local touchscreen interface for daily use, while an associated smartphone app provides management and telemetry, such as long-term biomonitoring. While early models could perform basic tasks, such as calculations, digital time telling, translations, and game-playing, smartwatches released since 2015 have more general functionality closer to smartphones, including mobile apps, a mobile operating system and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity. Some smartwatches function as portable media players, with FM radio and playback of digital audio and video files via a Bluetooth headset. Some models, called watch phones, have mobile cellular functionality such as making telephone calls.
The Samsung Wave II S8530 is the successor of the Samsung Wave S8500 smartphone running the Bada 1.2 operating system designed by Samsung, which was commercially released in October 2010. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is an Android smartphone produced by Samsung Electronics as the fourth smartphone of the Samsung Galaxy S series and was first shown publicly on March 14, 2013, at Samsung Mobile Unpacked in New York City. It is the successor to the Galaxy S III, which maintains a similar design, but with upgraded hardware, more sensors, and an increased focus on software features that take advantage of its hardware capabilities—such as the ability to detect when a finger is hovered over the screen, and expanded eye tracking functionality, it was released the previous year. A hardware variant of the S4 became the first smartphone to support the emerging LTE Advanced mobile network standard. The T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S4, named the model (SGH-M919), was released the same month. The phone's successor, the Samsung Galaxy S5, was released the next year.

The phone has a dual core Cortex-A9 1.2 GHz processor and a RAM of 1 GB, with an internal memory of 8 GB which can be extended to another 64 GB by use of microSD cards. The device also supports internet connectivity through 2G and 3G, apart from Wi-Fi. Navigation systems including A-GPS and GLONASS with Google Maps. The phone runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, with Samsung releasing updates up to 4.2.2. However, custom ROMs are available up to Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear is a smartwatch produced by Samsung Electronics in the Samsung Gear family of devices. Unveiled during a Samsung Unpacked event in Berlin, Germany on September 4, 2013, the device serves as a companion for all Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets which runs on Android 4.3 "Jelly Bean" or newer. It was released on September 25, 2013. Originally released as an Android-based device, Samsung replaced the operating system with Tizen through the May 2014 software update.
The Omate TrueSmart is a smartwatch designed by Omate, a Chinese company based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. It has been funded by crowd funding via Kickstarter. The funding period was from August 21, 2013 until September 20, 2013. The funding goal of $100,000 was reached within 12 hours, with more than $1,032,000 raised by the end of the campaign. In contrast to other smartwatches, the Omate is a complete standalone telecom mobile device that can be used to make calls, navigate and use Android apps independent of the user's smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is an Android smartphone developed by Samsung Electronics. It was announced in May 2014 and released on July 1, 2014. The S5 Mini is a mid-range model of its flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone and a successor to the Galaxy S4 Mini. It competes with the HTC One Mini 2 and the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. It has a similar design and software features to its high-end counterpart, the Galaxy S5.
Wear OS is a version of Google's Android operating system designed for smartwatches and other wearables. By pairing with mobile phones running Android version 6.0 "Marshmallow" or newer, or iOS version 10.0 or newer with limited support from Google's pairing application, Wear OS integrates Google Assistant technology and mobile notifications into a smartwatch form factor.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha (SM-G850x) is an Android smartphone produced by Samsung Electronics. Unveiled on 13 August 2014, the device was released in September 2014. A high-end device, the Galaxy Alpha is Samsung's first Android-powered smartphone to incorporate a metallic frame, although the remainder of its physical appearance still resembles previous models such as the Galaxy S5. Samsung Gear S is a smartwatch designed and marketed by Samsung Electronics. It was announced on August 28, 2014, as the successor to the Samsung Gear 2 and was released on November 7, 2014. The smartwatch can be modified to run Android 5.1.1 or Wear OS 6.0.1.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit is an activity tracker designed, developed, and marketed by Samsung Electronics. It was released on 20 February 2019, along with the lower-priced Galaxy Fit e. It was made available for sale on June 14, 2019.
The Samsung Galaxy F62 is a mid-range Android smartphone manufactured by Samsung Electronics as part of its Galaxy F series. It is the second phone to be released in the series. It has a 7000 mAh battery, a quad camera setup with a 64 MP main camera, as well as a 12 MP ultrawide camera, a 5 MP macro camera and a 5 MP depth sensor, a 6.7 in (17 cm) Super AMOLED Plus display and the Exynos 9825 SoC previously used in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ flagship smartphones.
