Lira is a city in the Northern Region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial centre of Lira District.
The system of education in Uganda has a structure of 7 years of primary education, 6 years of secondary education, and 3 to 5 years of post-secondary education. Soroti University (SUN), is a public multi-campus university in Uganda. It is one of the nine public universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country.
Serere Township Secondary School is a government sponsored, private coeducational secondary school in Serere, Eastern Uganda. The school caters for both boarding and day pupils. The lower secondary provides 4 years of schooling at the end of which students sit Uganda Certificate of Education (O-level) exams in up to 8 subjects. The upper secondary provides a further 2 years of schooling at the end of which students sit Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (A-level) exams in up to 3 subjects.

Teso College Aloet (TCA) was established in 1953. Teso College is an all-male preparatory school, a boarding school, located in Aloet, Soroti, in Uganda. As of 2014, Teso College has 1,574 students. Over 30,000 students have graduated from TCA since its establishment. Teso College ranks in the top 50 in the Ugandan national examinations performance listing.

Soroti–Amuria–Abim–Kotido Road is a road in the Eastern and Northern Regions of Uganda. The road connects the towns of Soroti in Soroti District, to Amuria in Amuria District, Abim in Abim District, and Kotido, in Kotido District. Soroti and Amuria lie in the Teso sub-region, while Abim and Kotido are in the Karamoja sub-region.
Soroti University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SUSMHS), is one of the tree schools of Soroti University, one of Uganda's public universities. The school houses the university's medical school, the fifth public medical school in the country.
Thomas Ongodia Aisu, was a Ugandan medical doctor, microbiologist, academic and academic administrator, who at the time of his death, served as an Associate Professor at the Soroti University School of Health Sciences.
