The All India Trinamool Congress is an Indian political party that is mainly influential in the state of West Bengal. It was founded by Mamata Banerjee on 1 January 1998 as a breakaway faction from the Indian National Congress and rapidly rose to prominence in the politics of West Bengal under her leadership. Presently,it is ruling the state of West Bengal beside being the third-largest party in India in terms of number of MPs just after the BJP and INC.

Biswajit Das is an Indian politician from the All India Trinamool Congress party. In May 2021,he was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Bagdah constituency. He ran for the office as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and defeated Paritosh Kumar Saha of All India Trinamool Congress by 9,792 votes in 2021 West Bengal Assembly election,but returned to the All India Trinamool Congress later in 2021.
Ashok Kirtania is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. In May 2021,he was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Bangaon Uttar (constituency). He defeated Shyamal Roy of All India Trinamool Congress by 10,488 votes in 2021 West Bengal Assembly election.
Tanmay Ghosh is an Indian politician from All India Trinamool Congress. In May 2021,he was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Bishnupur (constituency). He defeated Archita Bid of All India Trinamool Congress by 11,133 votes in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly election. On 30 August 2021 he joined All India Trinamool Congress.
The Seventeenth Legislative Assembly of West Bengal constituted after the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections which were concluded earlier on 29 April 2021 and the results were announced on 2 May 2021. The tenure of West Bengal Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 7 May 2026.
The 2024 Indian general election was held in West Bengal in seven phases between 19 April and 1 June 2024 to elect 42 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election was announced on 4 June 2024.
