The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) is a state government funded institute with locations throughout South Australia. SARDI is part of Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA) [1]

Urrbrae Wetland

The Urrbrae Wetland is a constructed urban wetland in the Australian state of South Australia located in the suburb of Urrbrae in the Adelaide metropolitan area. It was constructed to manage flood water from the nearby Adelaide Hills and has been developed to provide ecological and educational benefits. The wetland covers approximately 6 hectares of land which is onsite of Urrbrae Agricultural High School. The area of water is approximately 4 hectares and when full, contains approximately 13.5 million litres of water.

Arnold Edwin Victor Richardson MA, BSc., was an Australian scientist noted for dry farming research, who became founding director of Waite Research Institute then director of the organisation now known as CSIRO.

The 2015 Pinery bushfire was a catastrophic bushfire that burned from 25 November to 2 December 2015, and primarily affected the Lower Mid North and west Barossa Valley regions immediately north of Gawler in the Australian state of South Australia. At least 86,000 hectares of scrub and farmland in the council areas of Light, Wakefield, Clare and Gilbert Valleys, and Mallala were burned during its duration.
