South Kanara District Chess Association, also known as SKDCA is an association for the game of Chess, headquartered in Mangalore city of Karnataka in India. [1] [2] [3] [4] SKDCA has organized national level and FIDE rated chess tournaments, and international masters and grand masters have participated in these tournaments. [5] [1]

Tulu Nadu state movement

The Tulu Nadu state movement is aimed at increasing Tulu Nadu's influence and political power through the formation of a separate Tulu Nadu state from Karnataka and Kerala. Tulu Nadu is a region on the south-western coast of India. It consists of the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts of Karnataka, and the northern parts of the Kasargod district up to the Chandragiri river in Kerala. The Chandragiri river is traditionally considered to be a boundary between Tulu Nadu and Kerala from the fourteenth century AD onwards. The first call for Tulu Nadu was made just after the Quit India Movement in 1942 by Srinivas Updhyaya Paniyadi, a banker and a press owner from Udupi. Mangalore is the largest and the chief city of Tulu Nadu. Tulu activists have been demanding a separate Tulu Nadu state since the late 2000s, considering language and culture as the basis for their demand.

Awonder Liang is an American chess prodigy. He is the second youngest American to qualify for the title of Grandmaster, at the age of 14. Liang was twice world champion in his age category.

Vidit Gujrathi Indian chess player

Vidit Gujrathi is an Indian chess Grandmaster. He attained the title of Grandmaster in January 2013, aged 18 years and 3 months. He is the fourth Indian ever to have crossed the rating threshold of 2700. As of December 2019, his rating of 2721 makes him the thirtieth highest rated chess player in the world, and the third highest rated chess player in India, after Viswanathan Anand and Pentala Harikrishna.

The sports infrastructure have increased tremendously by improving infrastructure in outdoor and Indoor stadiums, play fields, sports academies, sports equipments etc. Sports such as kho kho, kabaddi are played mostly in Andhra Pradesh.Most sports players from Andhra pradesh represent national level competitions and very few international competitions.

Musunuri Rohit Lalit Babu is an Indian chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2012.
