The South Western Times is a weekly English language newspaper published for Bunbury and the South West region in Western Australia.

The newspaper was first published in 1888 [1] was originally titled the Southern Advertiser. The name was change later the same year to the Southern Times and in 1917 became the South Western Times. [2]

The distribution area includes many towns in the South West including; Bunbury, Boyanup, Capel, Donnybrook, Collie, Harvey, Balingup and Darkan. The paper is published every Thursday and in 2019 has a circulation of 6,300 and a readership of 19,000. [1]

Bussell Highway

Bussell Highway is a generally north–south highway in the South West of Western Australia. The highway links the city of Bunbury with the town of Augusta and is approximately 140 kilometres (87 mi) in length. The highway is signed State Route 10, except in Busselton where the construction of the Busselton Bypass in 2000 resulted in this stretch being changed to Alternate State Route 10 with the Bypass signed State Route 10.

The City of Bunbury is a local government area in the South West region of Western Australia, covering an area of 65.7 square kilometres (25.4 sq mi) along the coast about 180 kilometres (112 mi) south of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. The City of Bunbury is one of four local governments comprising the Greater Bunbury sub-region. As at the 2016 Census, the City of Bunbury had an estimated population of almost 32,000.

Old Bunbury railway station

The Old Bunbury railway station was the main railway station for Bunbury from 1894 until 1996. It was the terminus for the Australind passenger railway service from Perth. It was replaced in May 1985 by the current Bunbury Terminal in East Bunbury.

Forrest Highway Highway in Western Australia

Forrest Highway is a 95-kilometre-long (59 mi) highway in Western Australia's Peel and South West regions, extending Perth's Kwinana Freeway from east of Mandurah down to Bunbury. Old Coast Road was the original Mandurah–Bunbury route, dating back to the 1840s. Part of that road, and the Australind Bypass around Australind and Eaton, were subsumed by Forrest Highway. The highway begins at Kwinana Freeway's southern terminus in Ravenswood, continues around the Peel Inlet to Lake Clifton, and heads south to finish at Bunbury's Eelup Roundabout. There are a number of at-grade intersections with minor roads in the shires of Murray, Waroona, and Harvey including Greenlands Road and Old Bunbury Road, both of which connect to South Western Highway near Pinjarra.

The South West Football League is an Australian rules football league based in the south-west of Western Australia. The league is affiliated to the West Australian Country Football League.

Albany Senior High School is a comprehensive public co-educational high day school, located in Albany, a regional centre in the Great Southern region, 420 kilometres (261 mi) south-southeast of Perth, Western Australia. South West Phoenix FC Football club

South West Phoenix Football Club is an Australian semi-professional association football club based in Bunbury, Western Australia. The club currently competes in the WA Amateur Premier League.

The Collie Mail was established at Collie, Western Australia in 1908 by Mr H.E. Reading, who had previously established The Southern Times in Bunbury. The paper was published bi-weekly to share the news and information of the new coal mining town of Collie.

<i>The Bunbury Herald</i>

The Bunbury Herald, also published as The Bunbury Herald and Blackwood Express, was a bi-weekly English language newspaper published in Bunbury, Western Australia. After a merger with South Western Times, it became the South Western Tribune. In 1997 a weekly newspaper named Bunbury Herald was established by Seven West Media.
