Salka Aerodrome is an aerodrome in Russia located 17 km northeast of Nizhny Tagil. Until 1994 the airfield was home to the 765th Fighter Aviation Regiment initially operated the Sukhoi Su-9 (Fishpot) in the 1960s and 1970s. The regiment replaced it in 1980 with the MiG-23P (Flogger-G). From 1964-1994, the regiment was part of the 20th Air Defence Corps of the 4th Independent Air Defence Army. The 765 IAP was disbanded in 1994.
The Nizhny Tagil mass murder refers to a mass grave found in early 2007 near the city of Nizhny Tagil in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. The grave contained the confirmed remains of 15 young women and girls, aged between 13 and 25, and an estimated total of up to 30, who were killed by a gang of pimps between 2002 and 2005.

Sergei Mikhailovich Shepelev ; born October 13, 1955 in Nizhny Tagil, Soviet Union) is a retired ice hockey player who played in the Soviet Hockey League. He played left wing for HC Spartak Moscow. Internationally, he was a member of the USSR national ice hockey team that won the 1981 Canada Cup and the gold medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. He was named to the 1981 Canada Cup All-Star Team. He was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981.
The Tagil is a river in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. It is 414 kilometres (257 mi) long, with a drainage basin of 10,100 square kilometres (3,900 sq mi). The average discharge is 40 cubic metres per second (1,400 cu ft/s). The river has its sources on the eastern slopes of the Ural Mountains, east of Verkhny Tagil. From there, the Tagil flows north towards Nizhny Tagil, and then in a northeasterly direction to its confluence with the Tura.
The Culture and Entertainment Complex Nagorny, abbreviated as CEC Nagorny or KRK Nagorny, is an indoor sports and entertainment arena in the Sovetsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. It was previously called the Nizhny Novgorod Sports Palace of Trade Unions and the Nagorny Sports Palace. First opened in 1965, the arena was extensively renovated and expanded in 2007. The name "Nagorny" means 'upland' and refers to the arena's location in Upper City geographic area of Nizhny Novgorod.

The Nizhny Tagil Museum of Regional History is the oldest museum in Nizhny Tagil. It is located in the centre of the city, near the Tagil pond, at Lenin Prospekt. The museum belongs to the Nizhny Tagil Museum Reserve "Metallurgical Ural". Furthermore, it is located in the building of the former laboratory outbuilding at the Zavodskaya office. Together with the City Council, it forms the architectural complex called the "Tagil Kremlin".
