Squash is a racket and ball sport played by two players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their racquets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. There are about 20 million people who play squash regularly world-wide in over 185 countries. The governing body of Squash, the World Squash Federation (WSF), is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), but the sport is not part of the Olympic Games, despite a number of applications. Supporters continue to lobby for its incorporation in a future Olympic program.
Datuk Nicol Ann David is a retired female Malaysian professional squash player. Beginning in August 2006, David was the world number one for a record-breaking 108 consecutive months, finally ceding the ranking in September 2015 to Raneem El Weleily. She has won the World Open title a record 8 times in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, as well as the British Open title in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. In July 2016, she reached her 151st successive month in the top 10, breaking the record in both men's and women's categories. She surpassed Peter Nicol's previous records of 150 months.
Ong Beng Hee was a professional squash player. Between 2000 and 2006, he won four consecutive Asian Championship titles. In 2002 and 2006 he won gold medals at the Asian Games. He won 11 Professional Squash Association (PSA) Tour titles out of 19 final appearances, and earned a world ranking of No. 7, a career-best. This record of achievements has made him Malaysia's most successful male squash player in history.

Raneem Mohamed Yasser Saad El Din El Welily is a professional squash player from Egypt. She has reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in September 2015. She is a three-time finalist at the World Open, in 2014, 2016, and 2019/2020. She became the World Champion in 2017, after defeating Nour El Sherbini in the finals. El Welily announced her retirement from professional competition in June 2020.

Rachel Arnold is a Malaysian female squash player represents Malaysia women's national squash team. She is the younger sister of a fellow Malaysian squash player, Delia Arnold. Rachel started her squash international career in 2016 and reached the world ranking of 64 by the end of 2016. She reached her career best world ratings in December 2017 after winning the Malaysian Open Squash Championships singles on May 2017. Rachel Arnold also won the women's singles at the SEA Games Championship in 2017. Rachel also competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Aifa Azman is a Malaysian professional squash player. As of April 2018, she was ranked number 63 in the world. She won the 2018 Malaysian Squash Tour II professional tournament. She became the youngest Malaysian Winner on the PSA Tour.
Malaysia competed at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018. The chef-de-mission of the contingent was former two-time Olympian archer Cheng Chu Sian. Malaysia won its first gold medal at an Olympic event, having previously won silver and bronze medals.
Della Lee is a Singaporean former professional squash player who currently serves as the coach of the Singapore women's squash team. She has represented Singapore at few international competitions including the Women's World Team Squash Championships, Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games and in the Asian Squash Championships. She reached her highest career PSA world ranking of 66 in May 1999. Della Lee also holds a master's degree in international marketing.
