St. Mochta's F.C. is an Irish association football club based in Clonsilla, Dublin. Their senior team play in the Leinster Senior League Senior Division. They also regularly compete in the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup, the FAI Junior Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup.
St. Mochta's were founded in September 1949 when founder Barth O'Brien put a motion to the AGM of the St. Mochta's Branch of the Catholic Young Men's Society (CYMS) that a football section be formed within the branch. At the time, it was unsure exactly what type of football the club would play, considering that it could mean association football, rugby football, or gaelic football. After a vote from aspiring members, association football or soccer was chosen. [1]
In its early years, the club played its football at Somerton on the same grounds where Castleknock GAA club now play and briefly in Coolmine Lane, close to Coolmine railway station before permanently establishing themselves at Porterstown. In the early 1960s the CYMS became defunct but the club continued as St. Mochta's. [2]
In 2017 the club won the Leinster Senior League Senior Division for the first time. In October 2018, the Football Association of Ireland announced that St. Mochta's would be receiving €20,000 in funds to help fund a full-sized astroturf pitch at the club's Porterstown Road facility. [3] In July 2019, the club celebrated its 70th anniversary with a glamour friendly tie against English League One side Bristol Rovers. Hailed as 'the biggest club the .... side have ever played', [4] the match ended in a 7–0 loss for St. Mochta's. [5] The club were runners up in the 2023–24 Leinster Senior Cup, losing 3–1 to St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park on 8 October 2024. [6]
Shelbourne United Football Club was an Irish association football club based in Dublin. They are often confused with the similarly named current League of Ireland team Shelbourne. Both teams had their origins in the same Ringsend suburb and both teams played in the Leinster Senior League and the League of Ireland during the 1920s. However they were completely different teams.

Together with the Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division, it forms the third level of the Republic of Ireland football league system. Formed in 1896, it is the oldest association football league in what is now the Republic of Ireland. Shelbourne have won the most titles. However, in more recent seasons Crumlin United, Cherry Orchard, Wayside Celtic and Bangor Celtic have been the divisions strongest teams. In 2014–15 Bluebell United were Leinster Senior League champions, 27 years after winning their previous title. Clubs from this division play in the Leinster Senior Cup, the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the FAI Junior Cup. In recent seasons the winners of the Senior Division have also been invited to play in the League of Ireland Cup.

Pioneers Football Club is an Irish association football club based in Dublin. It was founded in 1908 by members of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association. Between 1922–23 and 1925–26 they played four seasons in the League of Ireland. In 2009–10 Pioneers were playing in the Amateur Football League. In 2015 Pioneers were revived after a five-season period of inactivity. They recently played in the Leinster Senior League before disbanding in 2017.
The 2013–14 FAI Umbro Intermediate Cup was the 87th season of the FAI Intermediate Cup. Intermediate clubs from the Leinster Senior League, the Munster Senior League and the Ulster Senior League entered the competition. Avondale United finished as winners after they defeated UCD Reserves 3–0 in the final in Turners Cross. As a result Avondale United also became only the second club after Distillery to win the cup four consecutive seasons. They also became the first club to win the FAI Intermediate Cup seven times, making them the competition's most successful club.
