Kushtia Church of Bangladesh also known as St. John's Church is a church located in Thana Para, on NS Road in Kushtia. It was established in 1850. [1]
The church was established in 1850 as a mud house on the western side of Thana Mor, adjacent to NS Road in Kushtia city. Later, in 1898, engineer William Renwick from Watson & Company completed its full construction. The first bishop at the time of its founding was Right Reverend M. S. Barui, who came from Indurkani in Barisal district. [1] The present brick-built structure of the church was inaugurated on January 6, 1922, by Mrs. W. B. Renwick. [2] The Church of Bangladesh Diocese of Kushtia was established in 1990–91.
