Stanley Leibel

Stanley Leibel (born 21 March 1927) is a Canadian former sailor who competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics. [1]

With the death of Canadian Olympian sailor David Howard at age 104 on January 21, 2023, Stanley Leibel became the oldest living Canadian summer Olympian at age 95. [2]

Zambia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its twelfth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1964 Summer Olympics. The delegation consisted of seven competitors; three track and field athletes Gerald Phiri, Prince Mumba and Chauzje Choosha, one each in Boxing and Judo and two swimmers, Zane Jordan and Jade Ashleigh Howard. Allan Leibel is a former Canadian sailor who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and the 1976 Summer Olympics. Leibel presently serves as a member of the Canadian Olympic Association and as a member of the International Sailing Federation Review Board.

Luke Ramsay is a Canadian sailor, who specialized in two-person dinghy (470) and mixed multihull classes. He represented Canada, along with his partner and Olympic veteran Mike Leigh, at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and has also been training throughout his sailing career for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club under his personal coach Ian Andrews. As of June 2015, Ramsay is ranked among the top 100 sailors in the world for the two-person dinghy class, and sixteenth for the mixed multihull class.

According to Paul Tchir, prior to his death in 2023, he was the oldest known living Olympic athlete.

Lorne Leibel is a Canadian sailor and one of Canada’s wealthiest real estate developers. He competed in the Tempest event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. In 2006, he was inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame. Nevertheless, the two were allowed to continue to participate and after seven races they still managed seventh place in the final classification.
