"The Sound of Silence" is a song by the American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, written by Paul Simon. The duo's studio audition of the song led to a record deal with Columbia Records, and the original acoustic version was recorded in March 1964 at Columbia's 7th Avenue Recording Studios in New York City for their debut album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., released that October to disappointing sales. An overdubbed electric remix was released the following year and went to number one on the Billboard singles chart.
Pnau is an Australian dance music trio originating from Sydney. The trio, a duo before 2016, consists of the musicians Nick Littlemore, Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore (production), with the latter joining in 2016. Pnau first gained recognition through their 1999 debut album Sambanova, which later won an ARIA Music Awards for Best Dance Release. Their third album, Pnau (2007), brought them further critical acclaim and success. Pnau is also recognised for a heavily publicised apprenticeship under the musician Elton John, who signed the duo after listening to the Pnau album. Several of Pnau's later projects have had John's involvement, such as the album Soft Universe and an album of Pnau recreations of Elton John's hits called Good Morning to the Night.
American singer and songwriter Bebe Rexha has released three studio albums, three extended plays, 33 singles, five promotional singles, and twenty-two music videos. Rexha released "I Can't Stop Drinking About You" as her debut single in 2014, followed by "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy", which was certified Platinum by the Swedish Recording Industry Association (GLF). A house track, it was written by Minelli and produced by Viky Red. Lyrically, Minelli discusses a toxic relationship and the other partner's eventual revengeful feelings. "Cold Heart (Pnau remix)" is a song by English singer and songwriter Elton John and English and Albanian singer Dua Lipa from the former's 32nd studio album, The Lockdown Sessions (2021). It was released on 13 August 2021 as the lead single from the album for digital download and streaming in various countries by EMI and Mercury. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, the collaboration between the artists was a testament to their friendship, which was established in November 2020. The song is a medley of four songs written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, as well as Andrew Meecham, Dean Meredith, Nicholas Littlemore, Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore, with the production completed by the latter three as part of the dance music group Pnau. Interpolating John's songs "Rocket Man" (1972), "Kiss the Bride" (1983), "Sacrifice" (1989) and "Where's the Shoorah?" "I'm Good (Blue)" is a song by French DJ and producer David Guetta and American singer and songwriter Bebe Rexha. Produced by the former alongside Timofey Reznikov, it was written by the artists alongside Kamille and Plested, with additional writing credits going to Jeffrey Jey, Massimo Gabutti, and Maurizio Lobina, as the song is a reworking of Italian group Eiffel 65's single "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" (1998). Marking the artists' fourth collaboration, it was released for digital download and streaming in various countries by What a DJ and Warner on 26 August 2022. "Creepin'" is a song by American record producer Metro Boomin, Canadian singer the Weeknd, and British-American rapper 21 Savage. It was sent to Italian contemporary hit radio through Republic Records and Boominati Worldwide as the lead and only single from Metro's second studio album, Heroes & Villains, on January 27, 2023. It is a remake of "I Don't Wanna Know" (2004) by Mario Winans featuring Enya and P. Diddy, which is based on a sample of the Fugees' song "Ready or Not" (1996), and itself samples Enya's "Boadicea" (1987). Winans himself returned to contribute to the song as a backing vocalist along with Travis Scott. Diddy himself would also join the artists on a remix of the song on March 17, 2023.
"Praising You" is a song by English singer Rita Ora featuring English producer Fatboy Slim. The song was released on 19 April 2023 through BMG, as the second single from her third studio album You & I (2023). The song is a re-worked version of Slim's 1999 song "Praise You".
"React" is a song by British production duo Switch Disco and English singer-songwriter Ella Henderson, released on 13 January 2023. The song heavily samples Italian DJ Robert Miles' 1995 instrumental "Children". It was released as the lead single from Switch Disco's debut EP Vacancy. The song was nominated for "Song of the Year" at the Brit Awards 2024.
"One in a Million" is a song by American singer Bebe Rexha and French record producer David Guetta. The song was written by Rexha, Burns, Martin Coogan, Scott Dittrich, Timofey Reznikov, Sarah Solovay and Ido Zmishlany, and produced by Burns, Reznikov, and Guetta, all three of whom also wrote the song. "Alibi" is a song by British singer Ella Henderson featuring British drum and bass band Rudimental. It was released on 12 January 2024 through A Major Toms and Asylum Records. "Alibi" samples Coolio's 1995 single "Gangsta's Paradise", which in turn samples Stevie Wonder's 1976 song "Pastime Paradise". "Alibi" peaked at number ten on the UK Singles Chart.
"Tsaritsa" is a song by a Ukrainian and naturalised Russian singer Anna Asti that was released on 14 July 2023 by Fenix Music. A music video for the song was released week later, on 22 July 2023.
"Mwaki" is a song by Brazilian DJ and producer Zerb from his third extended play (EP), Surrender (2023). It features Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau who performs the song in Kikuyu, a language spoken by the Bantu ethnic group native to Central Kenya. "Mwaki" was released as a single on 10 November 2023 through the independent record label, Th3rd Brain. A month later, it went viral on the video-sharing service TikTok.
"My Oh My" is a song by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, American singer Bebe Rexha and Swedish singer Tove Lo. It was released on streaming platforms on 11 July 2024, by BMG and Minogue's company Darenote, and further distributed in digital and physical formats. Furthermore, it is Minogue's first lead material since the singles of her sixteenth studio album Tension (2023), and appears on her seventeenth studio album Tension II (2024).
