The State Prison in Nyborg is a closed state prison, which was built in 1913 at the town of Nyborg in Denmark.

In the beginning it was used to place young inmates, who needed a special educational effort. From 1933 to 1973 the prison had a special section for young people, but since 1973 the prison have functioned as a plain closed state prison for males from Jutland and Funen.

The prison have 231 seats in total, of which 24 seats are under the arrest department used by the Police of Denmark. The State Prison in Nyborg employs about 300 people.

It was home to Knud Pedersen leader of the Churchill club in WW2.

The Battle of Nyborg was a battle fought between Sweden and the combined forces of Denmark, Dutch naval forces under Michiel de Ruyter, troops of Brandenburg-Prussia, and Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth forces under Stefan Czarniecki. The battle was engaged on 14 November 1659 at Nyborg on the Danish island of Funen. Nyborg was the final major battle of the Dano-Swedish War of 1658 to 1660.

Nyborg Slot is a restored medieval castle in Nyborg on the Danish island of Funen. The castle figures prominently in Danish history. It was here that King Eric V Klipping signed Denmark's first constitution in 1282. The castle was also the venue for the Danehof, the country's first parliament. The castle is operated as a part of Østfyns Museum which also includes Borgmestergården in Mads Lerches Gård.
