The Statistics Division of the Government of Pakistan, also known as Statistics Division, was a Government of Pakistan's executive and federal department, which was mandated to frame policies for the development of statistical services in the country. [1] The Department provided a solid statistical base to national and international planners, policymakers, researchers, and other data users in various socio-economic sectors. The Division was established on May 20, 2003, with the advice of noted statisticians and mathematicians to the Government of Pakistan. Initially, the Statistics Division was established under the technical directions of Scientist Emeritus of PAEC, Dr. Asghar Qadir.

The Statistics Division was part of the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Pakistan which also contained the Federal Bureau of Statistics, a major source of data about Pakistan, its demographics, and its economy. It has been superseded by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The Federal Statistical System of the United States is the decentralized network of federal agencies which produce data and official statistics about the people, economy, natural resources, and infrastructure of the United States. It is led by the Chief Statistician of the United States (CSOTUS) and the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy, and is composed of 13 principal statistical agencies and 3 recognized statistical units, 24 Statistical Officials, approximately 100 additional Federal statistical programs engaged in statistical activities, and several cross system interagency and advisory bodies.

The Statistics Bureau of Japan or SB/SBJ is the statistical agency of Japan, subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). The SBJ have conducted the Population Census and large-scale surveys to establish key official statistics of Japan. It is also in charge of the management of the public online system of official statistics, international cooperation with other countries' statistics offices, and research and publication regarding statistics. Its headquarters is in the ministry's Second Government Office (第2庁舎), in Wakamatsu-cho, Shinjuku, Tokyo, near Wakamatsu-kawada Station of the subway Toei Ōedo Line. The 2017 Census of Pakistan was a detailed enumeration of the Pakistani population which began on 15 March 2017 and ended on 25 May 2017. It was the first census taken in the country in the 21st century, nineteen years after the previous one in 1998, and it was carried out by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
