The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony (Urdu : وزارت مذہبی امور و بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی, abbreviated as MoRA) is a government agency of Pakistan responsible for religious matters such as pilgrimage outside Pakistan, especially to India for Ziyarat, and Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Hajj. It is also responsible for the welfare and safety of pilgrims. The agency has its headquarters in Islamabad. [1]

The Ministry was established by Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Its first minister was Maulana Kausar Niazi. [2]

Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi is a Pakistani politician who served as the 28th Federal Minister for Religious Affairs of Pakistan from 2008 to 2010 as part of the Pakistan People's Party government. He hails from Multan.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (abbreviated as MoIB) is a Cabinet-level ministry of Government of Pakistan, responsible to release government information, media galleries, public domain and government unclassified non-scientific data to the public and international communities. The COVID-19 pandemic affected the 2020 Hajj (pilgrimage), which is the fifth pillar of the Five Pillars of Islam, where millions of Muslims from around the world visit Mecca and Medina every year during Hajj season for a week. Over 2,400,000 pilgrims attended Hajj in 2019. Due to the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 in crowded places, various international travel restrictions, and social distancing recommendations, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah advised Muslims to postpone their pilgrimage until the pandemic was mitigated. However, in June 2020, the Ministry opened up Hajj to people of all nationalities residing in Saudi Arabia, with foreigners still banned from attending to ensure pilgrims' safety and prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

The Pakistan Hindu Mandir Management Committee is the first of its kind instituted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony in Pakistan. The committee was formed to oversee the affairs of Hindu places of worship in the country.

Haq Nawaz Akhtar, also known as H. N. Akhtar, was a Pakistani writer and public servant. His career spans across public service and literature. He has served in various capacities in the Government of Pakistan. As a Federal Secretary, he served in the Communication Division and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. In the literary world, Akhtar is known for his Urdu literature, including the book Elaan-e-Junoon and several ghazals. He is also the author of If Truth be Told: An Alternate History of Pakistan, providing an alternate perspective on the history of Pakistan.
