Stela is a puzzle adventure-platform video game developed and published by SkyBox Labs. It was released on 17 October 2019 for iOS through Apple Arcade and Xbox One and for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on 13 March 2020. [1] The game was delisted from Steam [2] on 20 January 2023.

Plot and gameplay

Stela revolves around a young woman that is witnessing the final days of a mysterious ancient world. [3] [4]

The environment can be manipulated in order to solve puzzles or go past dangerous creatures. [5]

Reception

Stela received a mixed rating of 71 on Metacritic for Xbox One, [7] a 5 rating on Gamereactor , [18] and 4.5 rating on TouchArcade . [17] [19]

It was self-published as the successor to Meat Boy, a 2008 Flash game designed by McMillen and Jonathan McEntee. In the game, the player controls Meat Boy, a red, cube-shaped character, as he attempts to rescue his girlfriend, Bandage Girl, from the game's antagonist Dr. Fetus. The gameplay is characterized by fine control and split-second timing, as the player runs and jumps through over 300 hazardous levels while avoiding obstacles. The game also supports the creation of player-created levels.
