Stephanie Jameson (born January 23, 1982) is a former Canadian women's field hockey international. Between 2012 and 2017 she held the record as Canada's most capped women's field hockey international. She represented Canada at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, at the 2003, 2007 and 2011 Pan American Games and at the 2004 and 2009 Women's Pan American Cups. She won three CIS Championship titles with UBC Thunderbirds in 2001, 2003 and 2004. She also played for Ulster Elks in the Women's Irish Hockey League and helped them win the 2014–15 Irish Senior Cup.

Early years, family and education

Jameson is the daughter of Morley Jameson and Sue Rich. Her mother was also a Canada women's field hockey international, playing for the national team between 1973 and 1979. Her brother, David, is a Canada men's field hockey international and her sister, Kathryn, played field hockey for UBC Thunderbirds. Jameson began playing field hockey at age eight when she joined the Vancouver Hawks. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2007 with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and gained a Master of Science in Sport Management from Ulster University in 2014. Domestic teams

UBC Thunderbirds

While attending the University of British Columbia, Jameson played for UBC Thunderbirds at intervarsity level. She was a member of the Thunderbirds team that won three CIS Championship titles in 2001, 2003 and 2004. Both her mother, Sue Rich, and her sister, Kathryn Jameson, also played field hockey for the Thunderbirds. [1] [3]

Jameson has also represented Team British Columbia at provincial level. [1]

Ulster Elks

Between 2013 and 2015 while studying for her Master of Science in Sport Management at Ulster University, Jameson also played for Ulster Elks in the Women's Irish Hockey League. During this time she also worked for the Sports Institute for Northern Ireland. Together with Sarah McAulay and Michelle Weber she was one of three Canada internationals in the Ulster Elks squad. [7] [8] Together win Megan Frazer and Shirley McCay, Jameson subsequently helped the Elks win the 2014–15 Irish Senior Cup. [9] [10] [11] Jameson also helped coach the Ulster Elks team. [12]

Canada international

Between 2002 and 2012 Jameson made 168 senior appearances for Canada. She made her debut for Canada at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. She also represented Canada at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, at the 2003, 2007 and 2011 Pan American Games and at the 2004 and 2009 Women's Pan American Cups. At the 2009 Women's Hockey Champions Challenge II she was named the tournament's Best Defender. In July 2011 she made her 150th senior appearance for Canada against Chile. In February 2012 at a 2012 Women's Field Hockey Olympic Qualifier she won her 164th cap. This saw her become Canada's most capped women's field hockey international, breaking the record previously held by Laurelee Kopeck. Occupation

Since 2016 Jameson has worked for the Canadian Sport Institute in Ontario. She previously worked as a deputy venue manager at the 2015 Pan American Games. She is also a qualified field hockey coach and has helped coach UBC Thunderbirds, the British Columbia representative team and the Ulster Elks. [6] [7] [12] [16]

The UBC Thunderbirds are the athletic teams that represent the University of British Columbia in the University Endowment Lands just outside the city limits of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In Canadian intercollegiate competition, the Thunderbirds are the most successful athletic program both regionally in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association, and nationally in U Sports.

After retiring as a field hockey player, Martin became a sports administrator. Between 1998 and 2005 he served as Deputy Chief Executive of the British Olympic Association and between 2006 and 2018 he served as Chief Executive of the Olympic Council of Ireland. He now runs his own leadership and management consultancy business and is an associate consultant at Lane 4.

Mary Goode is a former Ireland women's field hockey international. She has also played senior club field hockey for Pembroke Wanderers and Hermes.

David Carter (field hockey) Canadian field hockey player

David Charles Michael Carter is a Canadian field hockey player who is the goalie for the Canada men's national field hockey team. He made his international debut on home soil against Chile in 2007 and registered a 1–1 draw. His first career win came at the Azlan Shah Cup Tournament in Malaysia against Belgium in 2008. Carter currently has 122 international caps and has represented Canada at the 2009 Pan American Cup, 2010 World Cup, 2010 Commonwealth Games, and 2011 Pan American Games alongside various other international competitions. After playing for the UBC Thunderbirds for 5 years, Carter currently plays for the United Brothers of the Vancouver Premier League. Carter was selected Goaltender of the Tournament for the 2009 Pan American Cup which qualified Canada for the 2010 World Cup to be held in New Delhi, India. He was also selected to the Pan American Elite Team in 2009. Instrumental in helping Canada qualify for the Rio Olympics in 2016, Carter was named both Player of the Tournament and Goalie of the Tournament at the World League Round 3 Event in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the event Canada defeated New Zealand in a 14 round shootout after regulation time ended 0-0, where Carter was called upon to make multiple saves in the quarterfinal match up. He then achieved a silver medal in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto and was then nominated for FIH Goalie of the Year. His incredible 2015 was rounded out with being named Field Hockey Canada Player of the Year and another selection to the Pan American Elite Team.

Amanda Asay Canadian baseball and ice hockey player (1988–2022)

Amanda Karlene Asay was a Canadian baseball and ice hockey player. She played on the Canada women's national baseball team from 2005 to 2021, and was its longest-serving member at the time of her death. She batted and threw right-handed, and played at catcher, first base, and starting pitcher.

Sarah Casorso Canadian ice hockey player

Sarah Casorso is a professional women's hockey player with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League. She was a member of the Canadian National team that won Silver at the 2015 Winter Universiade in Granada, Spain, and is an alumna of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds program.

Nicola Evans, also referred to as Nikki Evans, is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Evans has also won Women's Irish Hockey League titles with Railway Union, UCD and Hermes-Monkstown. In the 2013–14 Evans was a member the UCD team that completed a national double, winning both the league and the Irish Senior Cup.

Hannah Matthews is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Matthews has also won Irish Senior Cup and Women's Irish Hockey League titles with Loreto. She is the daughter of Phillip Matthews, the former Ireland rugby union international.

Alison Meeke, also referred to as Ali Meeke, is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Meeke has also won Irish Senior Cup and Women's Irish Hockey League titles with Loreto.

Emily Beatty is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Beatty has also won Irish Senior Cup and Women's Irish Hockey League titles with UCD.

Shanice Marcelle is a Canadian female volleyball player and assistant coach for the York Lions women's volleyball team. She is a five-time CIS volleyball champion as a university athlete and two-time Bundesliga champion as a professional athlete. Individually, she was twice awarded the CIS women's volleyball player of the year in 2011 and 2013, was the 2011 CIS volleyball championship MVP, and was named the 2013 winner of the BLG Award as the best female athlete in all of Canadian Interuniversity Sport. She joined the Canadian women's national volleyball team in 2011 and is a member of the beach volleyball national team.
