Laurelee Kopeck (born July 17, 1969 in Nelson, British Columbia) is a former field hockey defender from Canada, who earned a total number of 163 international caps for the Canadian National Team during her career. Nicknamed "Jumbo", she graduated from the University of Victoria (sociology/psychology) in 1996. Kopeck also played club hockey in Hamburg, Germany. [1]

Joel Elizabeth Brough is a Canadian field hockey player. She has competed in numerous international competitions. Some of the highlights include: 1989 Junior World Cup,'90 &'94 Hockey World Cup, 1989 Champions Trophy, Field hockey at the 1992 Summer Olympics and 1995 Pan American Games. She was introduced to the sport in high school where she played on numerous OFSAA winning teams. From there, Brough competed for both York University and UofT, as well as, the province of Ontario. Brough is the Head of Health and Physical Education at The Sterling Hall School in Toronto and was also a Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torchbearer. In addition, Brough was inducted into the York University "Sports Hall of Fame" in 2012.
The 2001 Women's Pan American Cup was the 1st edition of the Women's Pan American Cup. It was held between 8 and 18 March 2001 in Kingston, Jamaica. The tournament doubled as the qualifier to the 2002 Hockey World Cup to be held in Perth, Australia. The winner would qualify directly while the teams ranked between 2nd and 4th would have the chance to obtain one of six berths at the World Cup Qualifier in Amiens and Abbeville, France.
The women's field hockey tournament at the 1999 Pan American Games was the 4th edition of the field hockey event for women at the Pan American Games. It was held over an eleven-day period beginning on 24 July, and culminating with the medal finals on 4 August. All games were played at the Kildonan East Collegiate in Winnipeg, Canada.
