The 1904 Summer Olympics were an international multi-sport event held in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, from August 29 to September 3, 1904, as part of an extended sports program lasting from July 1 to November 23, 1904, located at what is now known as Francis Field on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis. This was the first time that the Olympic Games were held outside Europe.
The boxing competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia was held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour. The event was only open to men and bouts were contested over four rounds of two minutes each. Five judges scored the fighters in real time and the boxer with the most points at the end was the winner.

Reginald Leslie "Snowy" Baker was an Australian athlete, sports promoter, and actor. Born in Surry Hills, an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Baker excelled at a number of sports, winning New South Wales swimming and boxing championships while still a teenager. Playing rugby union for Eastern Suburbs, he played several games for New South Wales against Queensland, and in 1904 represented Australia in two Test matches against Great Britain. At the 1908 London Olympics, Baker represented Australasia in swimming and diving, as well as taking part in the middleweight boxing event, in which he won a silver medal. He also excelled in horsemanship, water polo, running, rowing and cricket. However, "His stature as an athlete depends largely upon the enormous range rather than the outstanding excellence of his activities; it was as an entrepreneur-showman, publicist and businessman that he seems in retrospect to have been most important."
Albert Henry "Harry" Thomas was a British bantamweight professional boxer who won gold in Boxing at the 1908 Summer Olympics with a decision over John Condon.
Henry William Mallin was an English middleweight amateur boxer. He came originally from Hackney Wick, his younger brother was the Olympic boxer Fred Mallin. He lived in Dartmouth Park, North London and was a police officer with the Metropolitan Police.

Harry Ernest Wilson was a New Zealand hurdler who competed at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp and at the 1919 Inter-Allied Games in Paris. In 1920 he finished fourth in the 110 metre hurdles competition. He was the Olympic flag bearer for New Zealand in 1920.
Eddie Haddad was a boxer primarily active in the 1940s in Manitoba and British Columbia. His first major international tournament was at the 1948 Olympic Games as a lightweight boxer where he lost in the quarterfinals to the eventual gold medalist, Joseph Vissers of Belgium. Haddad was also a Canadian team member of the 1950 British Empire Games.
Tony Wilson is a British former boxer who represented the UK at the 1984 Summer Olympics and in his professional career was British light heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1989.
Sir Edgar Stephen Tanner, CBE was an Australian sports administrator and Victorian politician. He was a former secretary-general and president of the Australian Olympic Federation and Chairman of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association.
William Child was a British boxer. He competed in the men's middleweight event at the 1908 Summer Olympics.
The men's light heavyweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 81 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 29 July to 9 August 1992. 26 boxers from 26 nations competed.
