Steve Sutton (born Abertillery, 17 February 1958) is a former Welsh rugby union player who played as a lock.
He started his club career playing for Pontypool RFC, where he played until the 1979–80 Season, where he played for Ebbw Vale RFC, [1] years later, he would play for South Wales Police RFC. [2] Sutton had his first cap for Wales in the 1982 Five Nations Championship match against France in Cardiff, on 6 February 1983. He was part of the 1987 Rugby World Cup Welsh squad, playing three matches in the tournament, with the third place final against Australia, in Rotorua, on 18 June 1987 being his last international cap for Wales. Arthur Joseph "Monkey" Gould was a Welsh international rugby union centre and fullback who was most associated as a club player with Newport Rugby Football Club. He won 27 caps for Wales, 18 as captain, and critics consider him the first superstar of Welsh rugby. A talented all-round player and champion sprinter, Gould could side-step and kick expertly with either foot. He never ceased practising to develop his fitness and skills, and on his death was described as "the most accomplished player of his generation".

Pontypool Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union team based in the town of Pontypool. They play in the WRU Championship and due to the regionalisation of Welsh rugby in 2003 Pontypool RFC is now a feeder club to The Dragons regional team. Byron Idris Hayward is a former international rugby union full back who played for Wales and Wales A. He had an impressive debut for Wales scoring three tries in his first international match against Zimbabwe. Hayward caused controversy in 2000 by refusing to play against Scotland A in Bridgend because of the inclusion of foreign players Shane Howarth and Brett Sinkinson. This was in the heat of the Grannygate scandal, both players claimed to have Welsh grandparents that would later be found to be false.
Steve "Junna" Jones was a Welsh rugby union hooker, who played club rugby for Pontypool RFC and Newport RFC in the 1970s and 80s. He often played in a front row partnership with Staff Jones and Graham Price at Pontypool RFC and was part of the 1983 Pontypool side to win the Schweppes Cup. Although he toured with a Welsh XV to Canada in 1980, the game did not grant the Welsh players any caps.

He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Blaenavon RFC, Tredegar RFC, Newport RFC and Pontypool RFC, as a scrum-half, i.e. number 9, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales and Rest of the World, and at club level for Leeds, York and Keighley (captain), as a scrum-half, i.e. number 7. and at club level was assistant coach at Keighley.
The 1978 Wales rugby union tour of Australia was a series of nine matches played by the Wales national rugby union team in Australia in May and June 1978. The Welsh team won five matches and lost four, including losing both of their international matches against the Australia national rugby union team.
