StickyLock B.V. (trade name: StickyLock or StickyLock Games or StickyLock Studios) is an independent game development studio and publisher based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. [1] [2] The studio was founded in 2018 and as of 2024 it has more than 50 employees. [3] The studio is also known for its projects in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) as well its other games.

Projects

Histera

Histera is a multiplayer first-person shooter with a "Glitch" mechanic that transforms sections of the play area in real-time during the game, with scenery from one time period changing to scenery from a different period. StickyLock is developing and publishing the game. The game was released into Early Access on Steam on June 20, 2024. [5] [6] [7] [8]

A game demo was available to play during Steam Next Fest in October 2023. [9] [10]

Woven

Woven is a single-player third-person adventure game developed by Alterego Games and published by StickyLock. It was released on Android, iPad, iPhone, Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on November 15, 2019. Woven invites players to embark on a journey through a world of fabric, filled with puzzles and exploration. [11] [12] [13] [14]

The game received a 63 "Mixed or Average" rating on Xbox One, and didn't earn enough reviews to receive a rating on other platforms. On Steam it has a "Mostly Positive" rating. It was nominated for Best Narrative Design at the Gamebakery Awards in 2020. [15] [16] [17]

Sanity of Morris

Sanity of Morris is a psychological thriller developed by Alterego Games and published by StickyLock, offering players a mystery narrative set in the town of Morris. [18] [19]

Shadows's Edge

Shadow's Edge is a mobile game created by Digging Deep and co-developed by StickyLock and Little Chicken Game Company. [20] The game is available on iOS and Android. It was released on October 16, 2017. [21] The game is designed to help young people cope with chronic illness. Shadow's Edge combines gameplay with therapeutic storytelling, providing players with a safe and supportive environment to express themselves and explore their emotions. [22] [23]

Spark - Albert Cuypgarage VR

Spark - Albert Cuypgarage VR is a virtual reality (VR) experience developed by StickyLock in collaboration with local authorities. This project offers users a unique perspective on urban planning and infrastructure, allowing them to explore the Albert Cuypgarage in VR and gain insights into its design and impact on the surrounding environment. The Albert Cuypgarage is an underground parking garage seen as innovative due to its being the first parking garage to be built under an existing canal in the Netherlands. [24]

The player races a team of series characters through levels to amass rings, defeat robots, and collect the seven Chaos Emeralds needed to defeat Doctor Eggman. It features two good-vs-evil stories: Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna attempt to save the world, while Shadow the Hedgehog, Doctor Eggman, and Rouge the Bat attempt to conquer it. The stories are divided into three gameplay styles: fast-paced platforming for Sonic and Shadow, third-person shooting for Tails and Eggman, and action-adventure exploration for Knuckles and Rouge. Like previous Sonic the Hedgehog games, the player completes levels while collecting rings and defeating enemies. Outside the main gameplay, they can interact with Chao, a virtual pet, and compete in multiplayer battles.

<i>Eternal Darkness</i> 2002 video game

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is a 2002 action-adventure video game developed by Silicon Knights and published by Nintendo for the GameCube. It was produced and directed by Denis Dyack. The game follows the story of several characters across a period of two millennia and four different locations on Earth, as they contend with an ancient evil who seeks to enslave humanity. The gameplay distinguishes itself with unique "sanity effects", visual and audial effects that confuse the player and often break the fourth wall.

<i>Half-Life 2</i> 2004 video game

FlatOut is a series of action demolition derby/racing video games created by Finnish independent video game developer Bugbear Entertainment. The FlatOut series has sold a total of almost 3 million units worldwide. After Bugbear developed FlatOut: Head On, Dutch video game developer Team6 Game Studios developed the next three games in the series, which are the Windows-exclusive FlatOut 3 and two spin-offs on Wii and Android. Kylotonn developed the series' fourth installment, FlatOut 4: Total Insanity, which was released on March 17, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Europe and May 2 in the United States. A first-person shooter (FPS) is a video game centered on gun fighting and other weapon-based combat seen from a first-person perspective, with the player experiencing the action directly through the eyes of the main character. Ittle Dew 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Swedish indie studio Ludosity and originally published by Nicalis, and the sequel to the 2013 title Ittle Dew. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 15, 2016. An updated version of the game titled Ittle Dew 2+ was released for the Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2017; the updated content was eventually released on the Windows version on May 26, 2019. The Switch is the only platform that received a physical release of the game.

<i>Islanders</i> (video game) 2019 city-building game

Islanders is a casual city-building game developed and published by German indie game studio Grizzly Games. It was initially released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on 4 April 2019, and support for macOS and Linux was added in June that year. A version for consoles was released for Nintendo Switch on 11 August 2021 and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 26 August 2021. This version was published by Coatsink, which announced it had acquired the franchise from Grizzly Games in May 2022. A version for the Meta Quest line of virtual reality headsets was released on 28 September 2023.

<i>Kona</i> (video game) 2017 adventure video game

Kona is a 2017 adventure video game developed by the Canadian studio Parabole and published by Ravenscourt. Set in October 1970, the game centers on Carl Faubert, a private investigator, who arrives at a snowy town in Nord-du-Québec, only to find the place deserted with something that is lurking around. A sequel, Kona II: Brume, was released in 2023.

The ninth generation of video game consoles began in November 2020 with the releases of Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Series S console family and Sony's PlayStation 5.
