StickyLock B.V. (trade name: StickyLock or StickyLock Games or StickyLock Studios) is an independent game development studio and publisher based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. [1] [2] The studio was founded in 2018 and as of 2024 it has more than 50 employees. [3] The studio is also known for its projects in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and serious games.

Projects

Histera

Histera is an upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter with a "Glitch" mechanic that transforms sections of the play area in real-time during the game, with scenery from one time period changing to scenery from a different period. StickyLock is developing and publishing the game. The game is scheduled for Early Access release on Steam on May 16, 2024. [4] [5] [6]

A game demo was available to play during Steam Next Fest in October 2023. [7] [8]

Woven

Woven is a single-player third-person adventure game developed by Alterego Games and published by StickyLock. It was released on Android, iPad, iPhone, Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on November 15, 2019. Woven invites players to embark on a journey through a world of fabric, filled with puzzles and exploration. [9] [10] [11] [12]

The game received a 63 "Mixed or Average" rating on Xbox One, and didn't earn enough reviews to receive a rating on other platforms. On Steam it has a "Mostly Positive" rating. It was nominated for Best Narrative Design at the Gamebakery Awards in 2020. [13] [14] [15]

Sanity of Morris

Sanity of Morris is a psychological thriller developed by Alterego Games and published by StickyLock, offering players a mystery narrative set in the town of Morris. [16] [17]

Shadows's Edge

Shadow's Edge is a mobile game created by Digging Deep and co-developed by StickyLock and Little Chicken Game Company. [18] The game is available on iOS and Android. It was released on October 16, 2017. [19] The game is designed to help young people cope with chronic illness. Shadow's Edge combines gameplay with therapeutic storytelling, providing players with a safe and supportive environment to express themselves and explore their emotions. [20] [21]

Spark - Albert Cuypgarage VR

Spark - Albert Cuypgarage VR is a virtual reality (VR) experience developed by StickyLock in collaboration with local authorities. This project offers users a unique perspective on urban planning and infrastructure, allowing them to explore the Albert Cuypgarage in VR and gain insights into its design and impact on the surrounding environment. The Albert Cuypgarage is an underground parking garage seen as innovative due to its being the first parking garage to be built under an existing canal in the Netherlands. [22]

The player races a team of series characters through levels to amass rings, defeat robots, and collect the seven Chaos Emeralds needed to defeat Doctor Eggman. <i>Sonic Adventure 2</i> 2001 video game

Sonic Adventure 2 is a 2001 platform game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast. It features two good-vs-evil stories: Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna attempt to save the world, while Shadow the Hedgehog, Doctor Eggman, and Rouge the Bat attempt to conquer it. The stories are divided into three gameplay styles: fast-paced platforming for Sonic and Shadow, multidirectional shooting for Tails and Eggman, and action-adventure exploration for Knuckles and Rouge. Like previous Sonic the Hedgehog games, the player completes levels while collecting rings and defeating enemies. Outside the main gameplay, they can interact with Chao, a virtual pet, and compete in multiplayer battles.

<i>Eternal Darkness</i> 2002 video game

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is an action-adventure video game developed by Silicon Knights and published by Nintendo for the GameCube in 2002. It was produced and directed by Denis Dyack. The game follows the story of several characters across a period of two millennia and four different locations on Earth, as they contend with an ancient evil who seeks to enslave humanity. The gameplay distinguishes itself with unique "sanity effects", visual and audial effects that confuse the player and often break the fourth wall.

<i>Shadow the Hedgehog</i> (video game) 2005 video game

Shadow the Hedgehog is a 2005 platform game developed by Sega Studios USA and published by Sega as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game follows Shadow as he attempts to learn about his past, while suffering from amnesia, as he does an alien invasion plagues the Earth. Shadow the Hedgehog reintroduces third-person shooter elements from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, but greatly expands upon the concept and introduces nonlinear gameplay to the Sonic franchise. To defeat enemies and progress through the game, Shadow can use a variety of weapons from each faction and complete missions that will determine the game's plot and subsequently playable levels.

WayForward Technologies, Inc. is an American independent video game developer and publisher based in Valencia, California. Founded in March 1990 by technology entrepreneur Voldi Way, WayForward started by developing games for consoles such as the Super NES and Sega Genesis, as well as TV games and PC educational software. In 1997, they relaunched their video games arm, placing the company as a contractor for publishers and working on a variety of licensed assets.

Asobo Studio SAS is a French video game developer based in Bordeaux and founded in 2002. The studio is most known for developing video game adaptations of several Pixar movies, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and the 2020 and 2024 versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator. To develop most of their games, they use their own game engine called Zouna, which was originally developed in the 1990s by some of their own employees who used to work at Kalisto Entertainment. Just Add Water (Development) Limited is an independent video game developer based in Leeds, UK. Founded by Stewart Gilray in 2006, Just Add Water has worked on different titles for the PlayStation 3 and PC, notably the Oddworld series. They have teamed up with Oddworld Inhabitants, to recreate the series in high definition as well as working on new installments in the series.

<i>Dont Starve</i> 2013 video game developed by Klei Entertainment

Don't Starve is a survival game developed by Klei Entertainment. The game was initially released for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux on April 23, 2013. A PlayStation 4 port, renamed Don't Starve: Giant Edition, became available the following year. Don't Starve for iOS, renamed Don't Starve: Pocket Edition was released on July 9, 2015. An Android version was released on October 20, 2016. Downloadable content titled Reign of Giants was released on April 30, 2014, and a multiplayer standalone expansion called Don't Starve Together became free for existing users on June 3, 2015. On Steam, this game is able to be purchased with a free copy for a friend. A Nintendo Switch port came out on April 12, 2018.

<i>Jumanji</i> (franchise) American media franchise

Jumanji is an American media franchise, based on the children's book Jumanji (1981) and its sequel Zathura (2002), written by Chris Van Allsburg. The first film was produced by TriStar Pictures, and subsequent films by Columbia Pictures, both subsidiaries of Sony Pictures. The franchise follows the adventures of various people who find themselves imperiled when playing an enchanted game that comes with a variety of dangerous jungle elements that the players must survive as they play. The Sinking City is an action-adventure game developed by Frogwares and inspired by the works of horror fiction author H. P. Lovecraft. <i>Ittle Dew 2</i> 2016 video game

Ittle Dew 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Swedish indie studio Ludosity and originally published by Nicalis, and the sequel to the 2013 title Ittle Dew. Ittle Dew 2 was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 15, 2016. An updated version of the game entitled Ittle Dew 2+ was released for the Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2017; the updated content was eventually released on the Windows version on May 26, 2019. The Nintendo Switch is the only platform that received a physical release of the game.

<i>Kona</i> (video game) 2017 adventure video game

Kona is a 2017 adventure video game developed by the Canadian studio Parabole and published by Ravenscourt. Set in October 1970, the game centers on Carl Faubert, a private investigator, who arrives at a snowy town in Nord-du-Québec, only to find the place deserted with something that is lurking around. A sequel, Kona II: Brume, was released in 2023.

The ninth generation of video game consoles began in November 2020 with the releases of Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Series S console family and Sony's PlayStation 5.
