Aiding & Abetting gave the album a positive review, saying "Clay People has infused the metal guts with something very alive." [5] Sonic Boom credited the album's mix with revealing the talent of the performers and focusing on Daniel Neet's vocals. [6] Black Monday gave the album a mixed review and criticized the music's inability to hold the listeners interest. [7]
All lyrics are written by Daniel Neet, except "Spider's Bride" by Roger Fracé; all music is composed by Daniel Neet, except "T.M.S." by Mike Guzzardi.

East Side Militia is the second studio album by Chemlab, released on October 8, 1996 by Fifth Colvmn and Metal Blade Records. Its original title was supposed to be "Jesus Christ Porno Star". It was re-released on November 30, 1999 by Martin Atkins' label Invisible Records with two additional tracks, "Vera Blue" remixed by PIG and "Exile on Mainline" remixed by haloblack.
The Clay People are an American heavy rock band based in Albany, New York. Singer Daniel Neet has been the only constant member throughout the band's history, providing lyrics and a frontman persona. Guitarist Brian McGarvey and drummer Dan Dinsmore joined in '94 and '96 respectively. These three formed the core unit that would include an ever-changing lineup of musicians, as its style evolved from American coldwave to post-grunge rock and metal.
