Stone and Stone is an American comedy duo consisting of twin brothers, Adam and Todd Stone (born on March 22, 1983).

Life and career

Personal life

Adam and Todd Stone were born in New York City. They attended Wesleyan University together and graduated in 2005. [1]

Career

While at Wesleyan University, the brothers developed a variety show combining their individual performance skills into a single act. During their sophomore year, the brothers gave their first performance as Stone and Stone. [2] [3]

Online Series

Adam and Todd Stone portrayed recurring roles as The Henchman in Penelope Princess of Pets , a comedic online series developed by the comedy duo of Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal, which also includes a theme song written and performed by comedian/musician Reggie Watts. This web series consisted of 3- to 5-minute webisodes for comedy website Super Deluxe. Penelope premiered online in March 2007, with nine webisodes released. [4] It was picked up soon after to be adapted into a television show for United Kingdom broadcaster Channel 4. [5]

Currently as of (2019) the Stones are working on a new web series called “Going Both Ways.“ It has been accepted into and presented at several prominent festivals around the United States.

Comedic short films/commercials/television

The Stones have made numerous comedic short videos featured on the web. With highlights including work for Comedy Central's Atom TV . [6] [7] They also starred as principals in a national Verizon FiOS commercial. [8] [9]

The Stones have appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing , where they reached the semi-final round in Las Vegas. [10]

Live performances

The Stone twins have performed in many of the largest comedy clubs in the U.S., including Carolines on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory, New York Friars' Club, Stand-Up NY and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] Each month, the Stones host the long-running live show, Stone and Stone, at the Peoples Improv Theater. [16]

Awards and recognition

The Stones are both members of the New York Friars' Club. [17] [18] [19] In February 2008, judges Steve Schirripa and Richard Belzer selected Stone and Stone to advance to the Last Comic Standing, Season 6, semi-finals in Las Vegas. [10] [20] [21]

Kurt Braunohler American comedian

Kurt Braunohler is an American comedian and co-host of the podcast Bananas on Exactly Right Podcast Network. He was previously the host of IFC's comedy game show Bunk and has appeared on Comedy Central, This American Life, and Radiolab. Braunohler is a frequent collaborator with Kristen Schaal, with whom he created the web series Penelope Princess of Pets.

Kristen Schaal American actress, comedian and writer

Kristen Joy Schaal is an American actress, comedian and writer. She is best known for her voice roles as Louise Belcher on Bob's Burgers and Mabel Pines on Gravity Falls, as well as for playing Mel on Flight of the Conchords, Hurshe Heartshe on The Heart, She Holler and Carol Pilbasian on The Last Man on Earth. She provided several voices for BoJack Horseman, most notably for the character of Sarah Lynn, for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Dan McNamara is an American artist and humorist who works primarily with video and special effects. McNamara's works include the animated web series The Bear, The Cloud, and God, which appeared on Comedy Central, G4 TV, and Channel Frederator. Four of his projects have been screened at the New York Television Festival, including Redeeming Rainbow, featuring performances by Kristen Schaal and Ellie Kemper.

Adam Mamawala is an American stand-up comic. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey in 2005 and graduated from The College of New Jersey in Ewing Township, New Jersey with a degree in Communication Studies in 2009. He is of half-Indian and half-German ancestry.

Drew McCreadie, born 1967, is a Vancouver, British Columbia-based actor, playwright and improvisor. He was the winner of Best Male Improvisor in Canada at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Awards. His play The Cat Who Ate Her Husband was first performed in Vancouver by Ruby Slipper Theatre Company, and won two Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards for best new script and best play. Ruby Slippers Theatre Company also produced his Christmas farce The Hotel Bethlehem in December 2011, 2012 & 2013.

The 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival was held June 11–14, 2009 at a 700-acre (2.8 km2) farm in Manchester, Tennessee, United States. There were roughly 75,000 people in attendance. The onset of Bonnaroo 2009 was punctuated by monstrous thunderstorms. Thursday night included heavy rain, lightning, strong winds and hail. A lighter storm passed over the farm on Friday. The resulting mud became a hardship for some and a plaything for others.

The ECNY Awards were created by Derrick Gordon to honor rising stars in the New York Comedy world in various genres, including sketch, stand up, improv, musical comedy acts, and video. Penelope: Princess of Pets is a comedy series by comedy duo Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal, in which Schaal stars as Penelope, a woman who can talk with animals. On a mission to save the world by killing a legislator named Stone before it's too late, Penelope is accompanied on her quest by her pet bird Ruby, and orphan friend Kyle. The theme song is written and performed by comedian/musician Reggie Watts. Bridgetown Comedy Festival

The Bridgetown Comedy Festival is a stand-up comedy festival located in the Hawthorne district of Portland, Oregon that took place every spring from 2008 to 2017, featuring standup comedy showcases, live podcasts, panel discussions and improv comedy. It was created in October 2007 by comedians Andy Wood and Matt Braunger and filmmaker Kimberly Brady.

Andrea "Andy" Erikson is a stand-up comedian known as one of the top five finalists on the 2015 season of the TV show Last Comic Standing.

Helen Hong is an American stand-up comedian, actress, director, and producer. She has appeared in such works as Jane the Virgin, Parks and Recreation, and the Coen Brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis. She has a regular spot on NPR's Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me and hosts a trivia podcast called Go Fact Yourself. She formerly hosted the podcast Little Ethnic Girls.
