Strandville Football Club was an Irish association football club. During the 1930s they played in both the Leinster Senior League and participated in the FAI Intermediate Cup and prior to the partition of Ireland the Irish Intermediate Cup.
Strandville took their name from Strandville Avenue off Dublin’s North Strand [1] The club may have played at a number of locations, but a December 1915 issue of The Workers Republic magazine advertised that Stranville would be playing a League match against Bohemians at Croydon Park. [2] Richmond Park would later be home to St. Patrick's Athletic.
Future Ireland international, Manchester United wing-half, and Barcelona manager Patrick O'Connell also played for Strandville's junior team in his youth. [3] Future Irish Government Minister Oscar Traynor also played for Strandville in the early 1900s. He would also later play for Belfast Celtic and fight in the Irish War of Independence. [4] Traynor left Strandville to sign with Frankfort along with teammate Joe Wickham who would later become General Secretary of the Football Association of Ireland.
In May 1907 they defeated St. Werburgh's FC to claim the Leinster Junior League. [5] In 1917 they won the Irish Intermediate Cup. In 1927–28, the club reached the final of the FAI Intermediate Cup, losing to Cork Bohemians.
The club played in the first ever recorded soccer match at Richmond Park when they took on Inchicore Athletic in an October 1921 Leinster Junior Cup tie. [6] Richmond Park would later be home to St. Patrick's Athletic.
Bohemian Football Club, more commonly referred to as Bohemians or Bohs, is an Irish professional football club based in Dublin. Bohemians compete in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland, and are the oldest League of Ireland club in continuous existence. Bohs are the fourth most successful club in League of Ireland football history, having won the League of Ireland title 11 times, the FAI Cup 7 times, the League of Ireland Shield 6 times and the League of Ireland Cup 3 times. Prior to the establishment of the Football Association of Ireland and League of Ireland, Bohemians competed in the Irish Football League and Irish Cup, which were at the time all-Ireland competitions. During that period they won the Irish Cup once and finished runners up 5 times. They hold the record for Leinster Senior Cup wins with 33 cups claimed.
St Patrick's Athletic Football Club is a professional Irish association football club based in Inchicore, Dublin, that plays in the Irish Premier Division. Founded in May 1929, they played originally in Phoenix Park but they moved to their current ground Richmond Park in 1939.
The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup, known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland. Jacobs Football Club was an Irish association football club based in Crumlin, Dublin. Jacobs were one of the founding members of the League of Ireland and played in the league from 1921–22 until 1931–32. Like several fellow early League of Ireland clubs, such as St James's Gate, Midland Athletic, Fordsons and Dundalk, Jacobs had their origins as a factory or works team. They were originally the football team of Jacobs Biscuit Factory. They remained active as a football club until at least the late 1960s, playing in the round of sixteen of the 1968–69 FAI Cup.

Formed in 1896, it is the oldest association football league in what is now the Republic of Ireland. Shelbourne have won the most titles. However, in more recent seasons Crumlin United, Cherry Orchard, Wayside Celtic and Bangor Celtic have been the divisions strongest teams. In 2014–15 Bluebell United were Leinster Senior League champions, 27 years after winning their previous title. Clubs from this division play in the Leinster Senior Cup, the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the FAI Junior Cup. In recent seasons the winners of the Senior Division have also been invited to play in the League of Ireland Cup.

Frankfort Football Club is an Irish association football club based in Raheny, Dublin. In the 1921–22 League of Ireland, they were founding members of the League of Ireland. Today they still remain an active junior club fielding teams in various local Dublin leagues such as the Athletic Union League, the United Churches Football League, the Amateur Football League, and the North Dublin Schoolboys/Girls League. The club has been managed by the O'Connor family since it was formed in 1900. Current chairman, David O'Connor, took control of the club in 1999.
Midland Athletic Football Club was an Irish association football club. During the 1920s they played in both the League of Ireland and the Leinster Senior League. Despite the name, the club was based in Dublin and not the Midlands. Like several fellow early League of Ireland clubs, such as St James's Gate, Jacobs, Fordsons and Dundalk, Midland had their origins as a factory or works team. They were originally the football team of the Midland Great Western Railway based in Broadstone, Dublin. The club celebrated its 50th anniversary of its founding by holding a golden jubilee dinner in Moran's Hotel, Dublin on 10 December 1955. The occasion was noted in a Dublin newspaper with a photograph of the team and officials who represented them in the 1909–10 season.
Distillery Football Club was an Irish association football club originally based on Distillery Road in Drumcondra, Dublin. The club was active during the 1930s and 1940s, fielding teams in both the Leinster Senior League and the Athletic Union League. They also competed in the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup, the FAI Junior Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup, winning the three latter trophies. Despite their successes at intermediate and junior level, unlike their contemporaries Sligo Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic, Distillery never joined the League of Ireland.
