Ask is a village in Ringerike municipality, Buskerud, Norway. Ash is located along Norwegian national road Rv35 approx. 6 km southwest of the municipality Hønefoss. The village once had a railway station on the Randsfjord Line. Ask is most known for Ask Chapel and for Ask gods, a Manor house owned by the Løvenskiold family.
Camilla Carlson was a Norwegian poet, novelist and literary critic. Her literary debut was the poetry collection Sanden og havet from 1958. She was leader of the Norwegian Authors' Union from 1977 to 1981.

Elling M. Solheim was a Norwegian poet, playwright and short story writer. He was born in Norderhov. His first literary work, Preludium from 1925, was not published due to bankruptcy of the publishing house. His first published poetry collection was Jeg lever idag from 1934. From the late 1930s he suffered from multiple sclerosis, but continued writing poetry and other literary works. He died in Ringerike in 1971. A bronze bust of Solheim, sculptured by Ståle Kyllingstad, is located at the Ringerike public library.
