Sudha Yadav (born 16 October 1965) is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),the party forming the Union Government in India. She is a part of Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party,which is the party's apex organizational body.
She served as a member of the 13th Lok Sabha from 1999 to 2004 from her elected seat at Mahendragarh,Haryana. Her recent induction to the BJP's Parliamentary Board [4] as well as the Central Election Committee has made her the only woman to hold the position after the demise of senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj. [5]
On 3 July 2015,Sudha Yadav was appointed the National in-Charge of the BJP OBC Morcha. [6] [7] [8] She has also served as a Member of the National Commission for Backward Classes,Government of India from 2019-2022. [9]
Sudha is an alumna of Indian Institute of Technology,Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) where she obtained her Master's Degree in Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry in 1987,and Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemistry in 1992. [10] A mother of two children,she is a lecturer by profession. Her husband,Deputy Commandant Sukhbir Singh Yadav of the Border Security Force,died fighting in the Kargil war. She is also a recipient of the President’s Guide Award. [10]
India's present day Prime Minister Narendra Modi,who was in-charge of Haryana for the BJP in 1999 had proposed the name of Sudha Yadav as a candidate for the general elections. The BJP fielded Sudha Yadav as their candidate in the 1999 Lok Sabha General Elections in the year she joined politics. [11] The decision turned out to be a turning point in her career as Sudha Yadav won the election against Rao Inderjeet Singh by a margin of a 1.39 lakh votes. [12] However,she could not win subsequent general elections in 2004 and 2009.
Uma Bharti is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The Other Backward Class (OBC) is a collective term used by the Government of India to classify castes that are educationally or socially backward. It is one of several official classifications of the population of India,along with general castes,Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SCs and STs). The OBCs were found to comprise 52% of the country's population by the Mandal Commission report of 1980 and were determined to be 41% in 2006 when the National Sample Survey Organisation took place. There is substantial debate over the exact number of OBCs in India;it is generally estimated to be sizable,but many believe that it is higher than the figures quoted by either the Mandal Commission or the National Sample Survey.

Rajesh Verma is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. General elections were held in India on 27 April,2 May and 7 May 1996 to elect the members of the eleventh Lok Sabha. The elections resulted in a hung parliament with no single party having a clear majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party,which had won the most seats,formed a short-lived government under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However,two weeks later the United Front coalition was able to secure a parliamentary majority and H. D. Deve Gowda of Janata Dal became Prime Minister. In 1997 Inder Kumar Gujral,also from the United Front,succeeded Gowda as Prime Minister. Due to the instability,early elections were held in 1998. The elections were the first since 1980 in which every states' seats were elected in a single election period.

Upendra Kumar Singh,who is commonly known as Upendra Kushwaha is an Indian politician,and a former Member of Bihar Legislative Council and Bihar Legislative Assembly. He has also served as Minister of State for Human Resources and Development in the Government of India. Kushwaha is a former Member of Parliament (MP) from the Karakat constituency in Rohtas district,Bihar,and a former member of the Rajya Sabha. He was the leader of Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal (RLJD),his own party,which splited from Janata Dal (United) (JDU) in 2023. On 20 February 2023,Kushwaha resigned from all positions in Janata Dal (United) and formed his own party called Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal due to his political problems with JD(U) and Nitish Kumar.
Rattan Lal Kataria was an Indian politician from Haryana. He served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment till 7 July 2021. He was a member of the 16th Lok Sabha. He was elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Ambala as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party with 612,121 votes out of 1,220,121 total,defeating INC candidate Raj Kumar Balmiki. Previously,he was elected to 13th Lok Sabha from Ambala as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was also a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from 1987 to 1991,representing the Radaur Assembly constituency. He was born on 19 December 1951,and educated at Kurukshetra University.
Keshav Prasad Maurya is an Indian politician,currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maurya was associated with a right-wing Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh,before entering active politics through BJP. He was also involved in cow protectionism in his early life. The Jat reservation agitation was a series of violent protests in February 2016 by the Jat people of North India,especially those in the state of Haryana,which "paralysed" the state for 10 days. The protestors sought inclusion of their caste in the Other Backward Class (OBC) category,which would make them eligible for affirmative action benefits. Besides Haryana,the protests also spread to the neighbouring states,such as Uttar Pradesh,Rajasthan,and the National Capital Region.

The political alliance of the Koeri and the Kurmi castes,termed the "Luv-Kush equation" was formed when a massive Kurmi Chetna Rally was organised by members of the Kurmi community in 1994 against the alleged casteist politics of Lalu Yadav,who was blamed by contemporary community leaders for promoting Yadavs in politics and administration.
