Sulphur Aeon is a German death metal band founded in 2010. [1] The band has released three full-length studio albums. The first album, Swallowed by the Ocean's Tide was released in 2013 and the most recent, Seven Crowns and Seven Seals in 2023. [2]

History

The band was founded in 2010 by Torsten Horstmann. [1] [3] Along with the producer Simon Werner the first demo was recorded and released. Simon Werner and Torsten Horstmann had previously played together in the band December Flower.

The band's albums thematize the Cthulhu Mythos, which can also be found in the artwork of the albums. [4] [5] [6]

In 2013, Swallowed by the Ocean's Tide was released on the Imperium Productions label. [7] After signing to Ván Records, the second album Gateway to the Antisphere followed in 2015. [8] In the January 2019 issue of German Metal Hammer magazine, the album The Scythe of Cosmic Chaos , released in 2018, [9] [10] was voted "Album of the Month" by the editors. [11] [12] The album received many positive reviews upon its release with the reviewers of powermetal.de website calling it a "Meisterwerk" (masterpiece). [13] [14] [15] Also the Rock Hard magazine called the album a "masterpiece" and rated it 9 out of 10. [16] Musikreviews.de rated the album 13 out of 15. [15] A music video was released for the song Yuggothian Spell, based on Lovecraft's The Haunter of the Dark . [9]

The band played at the Rock Hard Festival in 2016 and it is booked for the Metal Hammer Paradise and the Party.San  [ de ] festivals in 2019 among others. [17] [18]

<i>Prison of Desire</i> 2000 studio album by After Forever

Prison of Desire is the debut album by Dutch symphonic metal band After Forever. It was released on 21 April 2000 by Transmission Records. The album contains the first four installments of The Embrace That Smothers, a collection of songs by Mark Jansen which deals with the influence and distortion of religion in human society. This theme was carried over to the Epica albums The Phantom Agony and The Divine Conspiracy.

<i>Reinkaos</i> 2006 studio album by Dissection

Reinkaos is the third and final studio album by Swedish black/melodic death metal band Dissection. It was released through the band's own label Black Horizon Music, which they had formed "out of the need of taking charge of our own business and making things our own way, without compromise". Reinkaos is also available as autographed limited first edition: CD packed in exclusive embossed slipcase, limited to 1,001 hand-numbered copies signed by the band members; including the music video for "Starless Aeon" and a sticker.

Kaamos was a Swedish death metal band that was formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2006. The band's name comes from the Finnish word for polar night.

Kekal is a heavy metal and electronic music band formed in 1995 in Jakarta, Indonesia. According to AllMusic, Kekal was one of the first heavy metal bands from Indonesia to make international inroads, and according to sociologist of heavy metal, Keith Kahn-Harris, was one of the few extreme metal bands from Southeast Asia to ever make more than a minimal impression on the global scene. The band consists of vocalist Karsten Brill as "Attila Dorn", lead guitarist Benjamin Buss as "Matthew Greywolf", bassist/rhythm guitarist David Vogt as "Charles Greywolf", keyboardist Christian Jost as "Falk Maria Schlegel" and drummer Roel van Helden. Ván Records is a German record label based in Herzogenrath. It was founded in 2004 by Sven Dinninghoff, who was a member of Black Metal bands Nagelfar and Graupel in the mid-1990s. The label was founded in the environment of Wòd-Ván, an association of Black Metal fans near Aachen, which was founded by Dinninghoff and other members of Nagelfar. Under contract are mainly German and Dutch bands, but also American bands like Škan or Svartidauði from Iceland.

<i>Underneath</i> (Code Orange album) 2020 studio album by Code Orange

Underneath is the fourth studio album by American hardcore punk band Code Orange, released on March 13, 2020 through Roadrunner Records. It is their first album to be produced by Nick Raskulinecz. The album was also produced by Jami Morgan and Will Yip. It was preceded by three singles: "Underneath", "Swallowing the Rabbit Whole", and "Sulfur Surrounding". The album continues the band's metalcore and hardcore punk sound with a heavier emphasis on industrial and electronic elements. The album received critical acclaim with critics praising the use of glitches and electronics and the overall production in general.
