Sulyman Age Abdulkareem is a Nigerian academic and professor of chemical engineering who served as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin from 2017 to 2022.
Abdulkareem graduated from University of Detroit in the US in 1980,with BChE and MChE degrees in chemical engineering. In 1988 he was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Louisville in the US. His areas of specialisation are heterogeneous catalysis and reaction engineering. [1]
Abdulkareem has worked for the Nigerian Steel Development Company in Ajaokuta,Nigeria,and for 3M in Minnesota,US. He was a research engineer and assistant professor in the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia. [2]
Prior to his appointment at the University of Ilorin,Abdulkareem was Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin. [3] He was appointed as new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin on 28 August 2017 and took up his role on 16 October 2017. He was preceded by Abdul Ganiyu Ambali.
Ilorin is the capital city of Kwara State located in the North-central region of Nigeria, although dominated by Yorubas, it is classifiedas North-central state due to its emirate system of traditional rule. As of the 2006 census, it had a population of 777,667, making it the 7th largest city by population in Nigeria.

University of Ilorin, also known as Unilorin, is a federal government-owned university in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The university sits on an expansive area of land, about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin; making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 17 faculties and over 100 academic departments. It was established by a decree of the federal military government in August, 1975. The establishment aimed to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan, which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower, which is vital for the rapidly expanding economy. Compared to other higher institutions of learning in the country, the institution has one of the largest land areas, covering approximately 15,000 hectares of land. It is reported by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to be the most sought-after Nigerian university in 2021. And again in 2023, it was announced by the JAMB Head, Professor Ishaq Oloyede to be the sought-after University, for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), making it for the 10th consecutive year.
Peter Olufemi Adeniyi, is a distinguished Nigerian academic and administrator. He served as vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure from 2002 to 2006. He was the winner of the John I. Davidson Award donated by the International Geographic Information Foundation in 1984.

Nkemakonam Nwolisa Osadebe (1955–2015) was a Nigerian academic professor of engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His researches has been cited in publications and practices involving civil engineering in Nigeria. He was the acting head of the civil engineering department in UNN from 1993 to 1996. From 2004 until 2008, he served as the director of the National Equipment Maintenance and Development Centre (NEMDC), an organisation in the university. Osadebe has held positions in the Nigerian educational system including Dean, Faculty of Engineering (2008–2010), chairman, University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka Campus Board of Governors from 2004 to 2007. In 2008, he earned the Vice-Chancellor's Award.
