Sumeet Saigal (born 18 February 1966) is a former Indian Bollywood actor and producer who was active in the Bollywood film industry from 1987 to 1995, appearing in over 30 films. [1]

Career

Saigal made his debut in the 1987 film Insaniyat Ke Dushman and played leading or supporting roles in films opposite actors like Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Mithun Chakraborty amongst others. Some of his well-known films are Imaandaar (1987), Param Dharam (1987), Lashkar (1989), Bahaar Aane Tak (1990), Pati Patni Aur Tawaif (1990) and Gunaah (1993). In 1995, he acted in his last films Saajan Ki Baahon Mein and Sauda and left the film industry. After 12 years out of the limelight, he directed the music video for a song featured in the film Red: The Dark Side in 2007. [2] In 2010, he produced the horror film Rokkk , starring Udita Goswami and Tanushree Dutta. Currently, he has a production company named "Sumeet Arts", which dubs South Indian films into Hindi.

Personal life

Sumeet married Shaheen, the daughter of Sultan Ahmed, granddaughter of Naseem Banu, and niece of actress Saira Banu, in 1990. They have one daughter, Sayyeshaa, born in 1997, who is a film actress and made her debut in 2015. [3] The couple got divorced in 2003.

Sumeet later married actress Farah Naaz in 2003. [4]

Pati Patni Aur Tawaif is a 1990 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Rajkumar Kohli, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Salma Agha, Farha Naaz and Om Prakash. It is a remake of Pakistan's 1988 Urdu language movie Bazar-e-Husn. Salma Agha reprised her role from Bazar-e-Husn in Pati Patni Aur Tawaif.

Indrani Mukherjee is an Indian actress who worked in Hindi films during the 1960s and 1970s and starred in over 70 films. After playing the heroine in some films, notably Usne Kaha Tha (1960) and Aakhri Khat (1966), she moved to playing character roles which were central to the film and made this her forte. Her roles in films like Dharam Veer (1977), Parvarish (1977) and Des Pardes (1978) were the pivot of the storyline, but they were not conventional heroine roles.
