The Zee Horror Show is an Indian horror weekly television series presented by Ramsay Brothers on Zee TV from 1993 to 2001.
The first episode was titled "Dastak" which was telecast on 9 August 1993 and featured Pankaj Dheer, Shagufta Ali and Archana Puran Singh.Initially it was a 24 episode deal with Subhash Chandra which later ran for 9 years.

The opening theme was composed by Ajit Singh and Uttam Singh. The tune was earlier the background score for several movies of Ramsay Brothers with the first one being Purana Mandir (1984) which was rearranged.
Zee Cinema regularly telecasted the episodes of 1993-94 in movie format. On 9 August 1997, Taveez was telecast. Rajesh Cable recorded them and Zee Cinema had several reruns of those episodes like Khauf and Taveez under the title Chills & Thrills till 2004.
Zee Café aired Season 1 episodes in UK with English subtitles from 2 January 2012 till 22 April 2012.
Zee Smile started airing Anhonee from May 2015 until the closedown of the channel.
A Pakistani channel Apna Channel started to broadcast Season 1 episodes under the title Apna Horror Show from June 2015. In October 2016 Pakistan government banned Indian shows and this show stopped airing. The show returned in August 2017 and got shut down in November 2018 again for the same reason.
Thriller Active Channel available only on Dish TV and Videocon D2H aired some episodes of Season 1 from 30 September 2018 to 20 October 2019.
The series aired on The Horror TV available only on Airtel Digital TV showing episodes of Season 1 from 10 May 2019 to 1 November 2019.
In July 1997 a petitioner in Punjab and Haryana high court argued that horror shows promoted superstitions which was affecting the youth. He requested that shows should be aired only after midnight. Women and children were a significant part of its viewership base so at the urging of Colgate, the show's sponsor, the show's name was changed to Anhonee with the words The Zee Horror Show written below it. Soon the serial name changed to simply "Anhonee" from September 1997.
Ashok Surana was made the co producer of the show along with Ramsay brothers in November 1997. His episodes were directed by Indranil Goswami and would alternate with those made by Ramsay brothers. Some episodes produced by Ashok Surana were Jaal, Aaina and Aakhri Shikar.

One of the episodes of the first season, Abhinetri, telecast in 1997, generated a very high TRP for the show. The episodes of first, second and fifth seasons were half-hourly, while episodes of third, fourth and sixth seasons were one-hourly. Om Puri, Mandira Bedi, Tom Alter, Ashutosh Rana, Shivaji Satam, Virendra Saxena Nivaan Sen and noted theater personality Satyadev Dubey have starred in the show. Canadian actor, Remi Kaler also worked in the series in 1999 and 2000. The sixth season premiered on 18 February 2015, starring Shakti Anand and ended on 4 August 2015.

Shyam Ramsay was a Bollywood film director. He was one of the seven Ramsay Brothers who were active in Indian cinema throughout the 1970s and the 1980s. Shyam Ramsay was considered the main artist and head of this group. They produced a number of horror movies such as Darwaza, Purana Mandir and Veerana.
Ramsay Brothers is a pseudonym used for a family of Bollywood filmmakers and sons of F.U. Ramsay. The family includes seven brothers, who made cult horror films mainly in 70's and 80's decade. The brother's name are Kumar Ramsay (eldest), Gangu Ramsay, Tulsi Ramsay, Arjun Ramsay, Shyam Ramsay, Keshu Ramsay and Kiran Ramsay. The brothers worked together for most of their careers and divided the various departments of filmmaking among them to produce movies. Kumar Ramsay handled the scripting, Gangu took care of the cinematography, Kiran Ramsay managed sound department, Keshu handled production, Arjun Ramsay took care of editing and Shyam Ramsay with Tulsi Ramsay handled the direction department. The Ramsays were originally the Ramsinghanis, who ran electronics shops in Karachi and Lahore. After the Partition of India, Fatehchand U. Ramsay along with his seven sons and two daughters,Asha and Kamla, moved to Mumbai and set up an electronics shop at Lamington Road. Soon, lured by the glamour of Hindi cinema, he got into show business with films such as Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh (1954), Rustam Sohrab (1963) and Ek Nanhi Munni Ladki Thi (1970).

Vaishnavi Macdonald is an Indian film and TV actress who is best known for playing Geeta Viswas in Mukesh Khanna's television series Shaktimaan, telecasted on Doordarshan. He is known for his role of "Karna" in TV series Mahabharat & other roles inChandrakanta, The Great Maratha, Yug and Badho Bahu. He appeared in several Hindi films in small roles, including Sadak, Soldier and Badshah. His son Nikitin Dheer is also an actor.
Tulsi Ramsay was an Indian film director. He was the son of F.U. Ramsay and was one of the famous Seven Ramsay Brothers. The other six are Kumar Ramsay, Shyam Ramsay, Keshu Ramsay, Arjun Ramsay, Gangu Ramsay and Kiran Ramsay. Tulsi Ramsay directed several movies in the Horror genre during the 80's and 90's. Movies such as Hotel, Purana Mandir, Tahkhana, Veerana, Bandh Darwaza have acquired a cult following. He has also directed the Zee Horror Show TV series in 1993.
