Mithun said of the film: "I have done nearly 350 films and this is my boldest film, ever". Sohini Sengupta is an Indian film and theatre actress. Daughter of actor Rudraprasad Sengupta and Swatilekha Sengupta, who are also active in theatre, Sohini is one of the leading actors of the Bengali theatre group Nandikar. As a member of the group, she has worked with prominent theatre personalities such as Debshankar Halder, Sumanto Gangopadhyay and Parthapratim Deb, and was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi's 2007 Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for contributions to theatre. Annadaata is a 2002 Bengali action drama film directed by Ravi Kinagi and produced by Kusum Dhanuka under the banner of Eskay Movies. The film features actors Prosenjit Chatterjee and Sreelekha Mitra in the lead roles. Music of the film was composed by Babul Bose. The film was a remake of 1990 Hindi film Swarg which was a loosely based on 1967 movie Mehrban which itself was a remake of the 1960 Tamil movie Padikkadha Medhai which in turn was a remake of 1953 Bengali film Jog Biyog based on the novel of same name by Ashapoorna Devi. The film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee in role of Shankar which was played by Govinda as Krishna in Swarg whereas Abdur Razzak played the role of Rajesh Khanna.

<i>Badshahi Angti</i> (film) 2014 film by Sandip Ray

Badshahi Angti is a 2014 Indian Bengali-language thriller film directed by Sandip Ray, based on the novel of the same name by Satyajit Ray, starring Abir Chatterjee and Sourav Das as Feluda and Topse respectively. The film was released on 19 December 2014. It is the first film which stars Abir Chatterjee as Feluda. This was going to be a reboot to previous Feluda film series after Royal Bengal Rahashya. But in 2016 Sandip Ray cancelled the reboot series because Abir Chatterjee started a new version of film series based on Byomkesh Bakshi franchise under Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films. The other reason was the new Feluda movie Sandip Ray intended to make under a Mumbai-based production house Eros International, but Abir has a strict contract with Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films.

The film, being shot in black and white, stars Jeetu Kamal in the title role of Aparajito Ray.
