Sujan Mukherjee (also known as Neel Mukherjee) is an Indian actor who works in Bengali language films, television and theatre. [2] In 2012 he made his directorial debut with the film Ghete Gho. [3] He is an active Member of the renowned Theatre Group Chetana. On 22 February 2016 his directorial debut, in the field of Theatre, Ghashiram Kotwal, which is an adaptation on Marathi play, was premiered. In 2018 he directed Don: Taake Bhalo Laage an adaptation of Dale Wasserman's Don Quixote which was translated into Bengali by his father Arun Mukhopadhyay many years back. This play marked the re-entry of his brother and noted director Suman Mukhopadhyay as an actor after 25 years.

Abar Byomkesh is an Indian detective film about the Bengali fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi released on 23 March 2012. It is directed by Anjan Dutt and is the sequel of 2010's Byomkesh Bakshi. Dutt made a sequel of Abar Byomkesh, named Byomkesh Phire Elo released on 19 December 2014.

<i>Badshahi Angti</i> (film) 2014 film by Sandip Ray

Badshahi Angti is a 2014 Indian Bengali-language thriller film directed by Sandip Ray, based on the novel of the same name by Satyajit Ray, starring Abir Chatterjee and Sourav Das as Feluda and Topse respectively. The film was released on 19 December 2014. It is the first film which stars Abir Chatterjee as Feluda. This was going to be a reboot to previous Feluda film series after Royal Bengal Rahashya. But in 2016 Sandip Ray cancelled the reboot series because Abir Chatterjee started a new version of film series based on Byomkesh Bakshi franchise under Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films. The other reason was the new Feluda movie Sandip Ray intended to make under a Mumbai-based production house Eros International, but Abir has a strict contract with Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films.

Byomkesh was a 2014 Indian Bengali crime fiction television series based on the Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The series starred Gaurav Chakrabarty, Saugata Bandyopadhyay and Ridhima Ghosh as Byomkesh Bakshi, Ajit and Satyabati respectively. The series premiered on 20 November 2014 on Colors Bangla channel and ended on 14 November 2015. This series is re-runned on 4 March 2024. The first episode was narrated by Sabyasachi Chakrabarty.

Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival (HBFF) is a Bengali film festival in the city of Hyderabad and is being organized annually since 2014. The venue of the festival is the Prasad Film Preview Labs, Hyderabad. The first edition of the film festival was held in the year 2014. It is the only curated Bengali film festival in India.

Kiriti Roy is a fictional detective of Bengali literature created by Dr. Nihar Ranjan Gupta. The first story introduces him as follows: "Kiriti Roy is six and a half feet tall, fair and stout. His curled hair is mostly combed back, and the black celluloid spectacles make his clean-shaven face highly attractive." In his own words, "In this universe, virtue and sin reside in parallel. Kiriti Roy is a Bengali thriller drama film directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay and produced by Ashok Dhanuka. This film was released on 30 December 2016 in the banner of Eskay Movies. It is based on Nihar Ranjan Gupta's Kiriti Roy series, Setarer Sur.

The West Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award for Best Director is given yearly by WBFJA as a part of its annual West Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards for Bengali films, to recognize the best director of the previous year.

<i>Tonic</i> (film) 2021 Bengali film by Avijit Sen

Tonic is a 2021 Indian Bengali-language family drama film directed by Avijit Sen, produced by Atanu Raychaudhuri and distributed jointly by Bengal Talkies and Dev Entertainment Ventures. The film revolves around an elderly couple, portrayed by Paran Bandopadhyay and Shakuntala Barua, who get to enjoy a fresh lease of life through their tourist guide, Tonic (Dev).

Ardhangini is a 2023 Indian Bengali drama film written and directed by Kaushik Ganguly. The film is produced by Nispal Singh under the banner of Surinder Films. The film stars Churni Ganguly, Jaya Ahsan and Kaushik Sen in lead roles. It was a box office success. It was featured at the 54th IFFI Indian panorama section.

Ankita Chakraborty is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Bengali Cinema and television. She is known for her appearances in the Byomkesh series films: Byomkesh Phire Elo (2014), Byomkesh Bakshi (2015), Byomkesh O Chiriyakhana (2016), and Byomkesh O Agnibaan. Her best-known television appearances are Ishti Kutum (2011) as Kamalika and Indrani (2022) as Indrani.
